"I can't find anything on this new girl he's seeing. It's like he wasn't with this girl at all," Ino sighed in disbelief.

After her conversation with Sasuke, Sakura felt a twinge of annoyance that her ex was with someone new.

Sakura shook her head.

Nope. No way. I don't fucking care.

Annoyed? More like curious.

"What's with the sudden interest?" Hinata asked, looking at Sakura with curiosity.

"That new intern my dad hired... Sasuke... he really got under my skin," Sakura facepalmed, lying back on the bed.

Ino's eyes widened, "He got under you?"

"W-what? No! I meant like he pointed something out, and maybe he was right," Sakura continued. "I told him about what you guys texted me regarding my ex, and he asked why I cared. He's right! Why should I care?"

This wasn't what she wanted. She didn't want to spend her summer thinking about her son-of-a-bitch ex-boyfriend, let alone why what Sasuke said mattered so much.

"It's okay to be curious!" Ino defended. "If it were me, I would want to know who my ex moved on with. Right, Hinata?"

Hinata bit her lip. "Um... Ino, maybe that's just you. For me, once it's over, it's over."

Sakura rolled her eyes, grateful for Hinata's perspective but still feeling the weight of her unresolved feelings. "I know it should be over. I just... wish I could turn off my brain sometimes. It feels like I'm stuck in this loop, you know?"

Ino plopped down next to her, propping herself up on one elbow. "Alright, let's break it down. What exactly is bothering you? Is it the fact that he's with someone else, or that you feel replaced?"

Sakura contemplated this for a moment, fingers fiddling with the hem of her shirt. "Both? I guess I just didn't expect him to bounce back so fast. I mean, fuck! He did cheat on me."

Hinata nodded empathetically. "I get it, Sakura. It's hard to see someone you cared about move on, especially while processing the whole cheating thing."

"Ugh," Sakura sat up, frustration palpable. "I thought I could use this summer to focus on my future, but here I am, obsessing over my past."

Ino smirked, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Well, why not try replacing him?"

Sakura shot her a glare. "You mean like dating? That's not a good idea, Ino! No boys this summer."

"Ugh, whatever," Ino said, defeated. "Any other plans you got, Hinata?"

Hinata looked between the two girls. "I mean... I don't agree with jumping into another relationship so soon, but... I wouldn't necessarily oppose the idea if it were me."

"So are you guys saying I should fuck the next guy I see?" Sakura scoffed.

"I mean... you could," Ino replied.

Sakura's eyes widened as she threw a pillow. "Ino!"

"What? Am I wrong? I know you're sex-deprived, or more like touch-deprived. Don't lie, Saku," Ino crossed her arms, challenging her friend.

"Look, guys, it's whatever. I really don't care! I... What Sasuke said... maybe it got to me more than it should have. I shouldn't have let it drag out this far. My ex is in the past and shall remain in the past," Sakura sighed.

Sakura shook her head again. She didn't have feelings for her ex anymore; he was history. It didn't matter whether he was with someone new or not.

She didn't want him back.
