FARIA
"Ekansh, can I go to the lake which is on the backside of your house?" I asked.
"No." He replied, not wasting a single second.
"Oh, okay." I frowned, looking out of the window and seeing such a pleasant weather. "It's going to rain soon, I guess."
He scrolled through his phone and nodded, absentmindly.
"Can I please go there?" I whispered.
"It's a private property not public. You'd get charged for trespassing." He said.
"I thought it was public property. So, no one lives there?"
He shook his head.
My lips curled up in suprise realising that he's actually continuing the conversation with me instead of ignoring my words.
"I'll take a detour then." I get up and opened the door. "Don't worry, I won't be caught."
I was about to step out when I saw him getting up and wearing his flip flops. I guess, he decided to accompany me.
I walked next to him and we reached the main gate, I kissed my teeth in disappointment. The gate was too long to be trespassed.
"Let's go back." I said, looking around, realising that it has started raining.
Hold on. The walls are not that long, if he could help me then I might be able to climb it.
Placing my hands on my hips, I tried to figure out that if I've to jump down from this wall, what's the worse that could happen? It's not that heightened, I might get few scratches that's it.
Alright, we're doing this.
"Help me to climb the wall, Ekansh." I said, shifting my attention to him who just gave me blank expression in return.
"Please." I added. He didn't move an inch from his place and when I was sure that he's not going to help me, he came forward and wrapped his arms around my waist to push me up in the air.
My breath hitched up but somehow I managed to reach for the edge of the wall and climb on it.
"Don't." He spoke when I was about to jump to the other side.
I forrowed my eyebrows and watched him get up on the wall effortlessly and then jump to the other side.
"Jump." He said, opening his arms.
I looked down and gulped in fear. Okay, I was wrong. If I fall on the ground then it might not just be about the scratches, I'm definitely going to have broken bones.
"What if you don't catch me?" I asked, biting on my lips in anticipation. "What if you let me fall?"
Being with him, I'm taking a leap of faith. I don't know this man enough to trust him but I want to. It's like giving him that particular vein of my throat which he could easily choke to drain life out of me but I want to trust him.
"I trust you, okay? Don't let me fall, Ekansh." I whispered and closed my eyes shut.
Maybe it's the right moment to start trusting him.
