Miki sat down on the chair opposite of him, sitting face to face. Her heart was beating a bit faster than usual but why? why was she feeling like that?
Miki was thinking to herself what have she done wrong? what is it he wanted to talk about and only to her? why is it important? is he still angry—
"Come back."
Miki snapped out of her thoughts just realizing she was suddenly zoned out Infront of him. Damn embarrassing. She thought and felt weird.
"I won't bite."
Now she feels even more embarrassed and weird of herself.
"I.. I was just... thinking-"
"leave it. Listen to me instead."
Miki looked up at him just to feel his intense stare on her. She quickly looked back down. All she could do was just give him a little nod telling him that she's listening.
"Alright." Hwan smiled slightly and put his cup down on the table and crossed his arms on his chest.
"How much do you make working in a coffee shop like this?"
Weird question...why is he even asking this tho?
Miki quickly shook her thoughts and decided to answer him honestly even though she knows he's the one paying her salary.
"Around....50-"
"Too less isn't it? how do you manage?"
"....."
Miki couldn't say anything. It was true she can't manage freely from that amount of money regardless of her savings. Her groceries, home budget and bills were quite difficult to manage.
Hwan noticed her once again getting lost in her thoughts. He sighed and lightly tapped on the table with his knuckles making a slightly loud knocking sound for her to snap out.
Miki looked at him and nodded to his question. Hwan saw her nodding and the corner of his lips tugged slightly upwards making a small smile.
"That's why I want you to work in my company.", said Hwan.
Wait.
What Company?
Whose Company?
Isn't he just a Coffee shop owner?
Miki's mind was suddenly a complete mess.
"C-Company?"
"Yep. My company.", he said, "Be my employee and I'll pay you tones because you are really smart and hardworking. You'll be far better than others there."
"But.. Aren't you just this Coffee shop owner?"
Hwan couldn't help but laugh at her innocent question.
"Look at me and tell me, do I look like I only own this small shop?" He scoffed. "I own a whole business. I'm the CEO of one of the greatest, richest and most successful companies."
Miki was beyond shock. How, how can he be?... Though from his looks, his style and his car and his guards, it was obvious that he wasn't lying.
"But then, why do you run this coffee shop?", she asked. That was the question she wanted to ask ever since he revealed about himself.
"Simple. I once came here, I liked it so I bought it. Whole."
This man is crazy.
Or a spoiled son of rich parents.
....Or maybe both.
Hwan cleared his throat.
"So, do you agree?"Miki looked at him, confused.
"Agree on what?""To work in my company as my employee. I'll give you free apartment, food and pick and drop. If you do as I say."
"If you do as i say"... If i do as he says.. sounds a bit risky.
Miki thought to herself and after a while of thinking she finally nodded.
A small smirk formed on Hwan's face but he hide it well.
"Good girl.", he mumbled.
"Mhm? did you say something?",Miki asked.
"Yeah uh.. I think I should make you have a visit in my Company, right?"
Miki nodded. She was always carefree and nonchalant. Always listening to her heart. The heart that hurts every night-
"Tomorrow. We are going tomorrow." Hwan said. "You don't have to come tomorrow in your uniform. You won't work here from now on."
Miki nodded. Hwan looked at her and noticed something was off.
"C'mon.. I just gave you the best job in my company and you look like a kid whom I've stolen a candy from."
Hwan leaned a bit forward, resting his forearms on the table that was between them.
"Can't smile?"
Miki looked at him and then averted her Nothing, she was just feeling a bit nervous about tomorrow.
Hwan slightly smiled and raised up his hands and without hesitation and without thinking he cupped her cheeks, taking her face in his hands and placed his thumbs on the corners of her lips and gently stretched them out in a smile.
"There. That's better now."
Miki's eyes widen. She flinched slightly at his sudden touch. She didn't know what to do. All she could do was just stare at him in shock.
That touch, That touch just felt familiar. No, she didn't want to feel it, at least not at such timing.
Her heart slowly starting to hurt a little, as if there was something sharp in her chest that was pricking her heart everytime it beats.
Miki pushed his hands away and stood up. Hwan looked at her looking confuse but he had realized his actions already. He also stood up.
Hwan was about to say something, about to apologize but Miki grabbed her bag and immediately left leaving Hwan confused and speechless.
