She closed her eyes tightly with a nervous smile on her face, scratching and fidgeting her fingers, she kept on breathing heavily.
Rukmini's friends were randomly playing 'truth & dare' .The game started with an enormous exhilaration and eagerness , but ended up with a sense or unease anticipation when she was dared to scribble a heart on the locker of Jagdish and stand there for 15 minutes straight ! At first, she cursed her mind for deciding to play that stupid game which brought her to this annoying situation. But she couldn't deny too. It was a part of it.
She scrunched and palmed her nose , before entering into the locker room. There was a strong concentrated smell, which she didn't like ! Maybe of a perfume. But tolerating the smell was a better idea than being caught up by the boys . She kept on tilting her head left to right , just in case Jagdish doesn't catch her red-handed. That would be so shameful if any senior sees her there. She twisted the pen cap , and inclined the black nib , started to scribble , but stopped in mid-way:
"Arehh , kya Kar rahi hai 'Mini ? Ek chota sa cute sa heart draw karna " commanded out Vallabhi from a distance , hiding behind a pillar , followed By Bhama and Radhika.
(What the hell 'Mini ? Scribble a cute heart on there )
"Mujhse nahi hoga " squinted our poor Rukmini.
(I can't do it )
"Well , we'll take away all your candies that you've earned so far in this game , my love " threatened Radhika with a grin on her face.
"Very funny , Radhika now you too " Replied Rukmini while struggling to draw a simple heart , checking her wrist watch if it's 15 minutes or not , she cant sacrifice her candies! She drew a hemi heart until -
"That Gobbo can be here any moment and now yo-"
*gasps*
Rukmini heard low sniffles out of a sudden . Turning her head just to the corner of the locker , she found a tall boy sitting in a stool . It was Him ! She was stunned to find out she didn't notice Jagdish there before . To her surprise , she noticed a tear . Yes, the champion of the basketball school team , the captain , the most popular guy in the entire institution , the one whose reputation in girls was best too, the most self centered and short tempered guy , shedding tears . He prefers to hide his emotions , but only shares with his two best buddies - Sudama and Dhananjay . Rukmini was surprised that he just simply didn't ignore her . He wiped it before she could see.
"Oh , I'm-I'm sorry , I-I really didn't mean to disturb you, it was just a stupid dare ....I must leave at once !"
"Did I tell you to leave ? Yo-you can st-stay " He said looking up with his teary, red rimmed eyes.
Without giving it another thought Rukmini cautiously went and sat next to him as he wiped his face again .
"Are you alright? " She asked softly tilting her head to see his face with hesitation.
"Its-its just I'm going through a bit hard times right now ." He whispered while choking.
But she was confused what to do , how to calm him down . She was bad at providing words which can provide comfort. She was nervous. Not knowing what to do she pulled him into an embrace , a tight one.
Jagdish was taken aback by her action , his pupils constricted as no girl ever hugged him before , except his mamma and Bhadra . But he didn't complain.
" Hey, it's -its fine " slipped a sentence from Rukmini 's lips.
