Four days had passed since the intense mock battle, and the buzz of excitement at Hunter Academy had settled into a routine. Mike had finally moved into his dorm, adjusting to his new life away from his former world. The dormitory was a large, well-organized building divided by gender, each section equipped with multiple rooms for students.
Mike arrived at his dorm room to find it was a bit disorganized. Liam, his new roommate, was nervously arranging his few belongings. The room was simple, with two beds, a small study desk, and lockers for each student.
Mike knocked gently on the open door. "Hey, I'm Mike, your new roommate. Need any help with unpacking?"
Liam looked up from his pile of clothes and blinked, his nervousness evident. "Oh, hi Mike! I didn't expect you so soon. I'm Liam. It's a bit of a mess in here, isn't it?"
Mike stepped inside and offered a friendly smile. "It's no problem. Let's get things sorted out together. I remember my first few days were pretty hectic too."
Liam seemed to relax a bit as Mike began helping him unpack. "Thanks, Mike. I'm still getting used to everything. My ability is creating small barrier, but it's not very powerful right now. I hope to improve with time."
Mike nodded, organizing Liam's belongings. "Everyone starts somewhere. Your barrier might be more useful than you think. It's all about how you use them."
Liam managed a small smile. "I appreciate that. It's just a bit overwhelming. It's nice to have someone to help."
Later that day, after they finished unpacking, Mike and Liam went to the common area for lunch. The room was buzzing with students talking about their training and experiences. Emily spotted Mike and waved enthusiastically.
"Hey, Mike! Over here!" Emily called out, her bright green eyes gleaming with excitement.
Mike and Liam joined Emily at her table. "Hey, Emily. This is Liam, my roommate," Mike introduced.
Emily extended a warm hand to Liam. "Nice to meet you, Liam! How's everything going so far?"
Liam shook her hand, his nerves still apparent but softening. "Nice to meet you, Emily. It's been a bit hectic, but I'm getting used to it."
Emily smiled encouragingly. "Don't worry, the first few days can be overwhelming. Have you had a chance to explore any of the facilities yet?"
Liam shook his head. "Not yet. I've mostly been trying to get settled in."
Emily's eyes lit up. "You should definitely check out the training grounds. They have all sorts of equipment and areas tailored for different abilities. Maybe we can all go together and explore?"
Mike nodded in agreement. "That sounds like a good idea. It would be helpful to see everything and get a feel for what's available."
Emily led Mike and Liam on a tour of the academy's facilities. They walked through various training areas, including a large combat arena, specialized rooms for elemental training, and a library with extensive resources on hunter strategies and abilities.
As they entered the combat arena, Emily pointed out different sections. "This is where most of the practical training happens. They hold mock battles, simulations, and even duels here."
Liam gazed around, clearly impressed. "This place is amazing. It's nothing like I imagined."
Emily smiled warmly. "It's definitely impressive. And don't worry if you're still figuring things out. Everyone has their own path and role here."
Mike observed the surroundings, feeling more comfortable with each step. "Thanks for showing us around, Emily. This will definitely help us settle in."
Emily beamed. "No problem at all! If you need any more help or want to train together, just let me know. We're all in this together."
As the day came to a close, Mike felt a growing sense of belonging. The support from his new friends, combined with the practical advice and camaraderie, made his transition into this new world a bit easier.
