Lily's pov

I was sitting in Ricky's bedroom because I wanted him to watch me practice my audition for the Spring Musical. It hasn't been announced yet but I'm almost positive it's High School Musical 2.

"It's gotta be High School Musical 2, right?" I asked Ricky. "I mean, Miss Jenn's obsessed with the trilogy."

Ricky stopped doing his hair to look at me. "Okay, A) Shouldn't you be getting ready for the party? And, B) How are you already practicing an audition for a show that hasn't even been announced yet?"

"I just wanna be ready. The musical was good luck for me and Nini and I wanna keep our good thing going." I told him before letting out a sigh. "Okay, there's a part where I'm gonna need you to duck and cover." I handed a speaker to Ricky. "Hold this."

"Okay." Ricky said.

I pressed play and the music started to play through the speaker. "Wait for it." I jumped on his bed. "Everybody's always talking at me. Everybody's trying to get in my head. I wanna listen to my own heart talking. I need to count on myself instead."

Ricky clapped when I finished singing. "Dude, you're totally gonna get the part."

"Really?" I asked with a smile.

"Yeah." Ricky said.

"Thanks, Rick." I chuckled.

"Ew. Don't call me Rick." He told me.

I let out a laugh right before the doorbell rang. "Oh, that's Nini. See you at the party."

Nini's pov

I swear, I was gonna tell her about Denver on the car ride to Ashlyns. I had my speech all written out about how I wanted to do long distance, but guess what song Lily wanted to sing for me the entire ride over?

"I'm not gonna stop, that's who I am." Lily sang as the both of us entered Ashlyn's house and she made her way into the living room. "I give it all I got that is my plan. Will I find what I lost? You know you can. Bet on it, bet on it. You can bet on me."

I laughed and everyone clapped as Lily stopped singing. I walked over to Lily and kissed her cheek before hugging her arm.

"Okay, okay, okay! Does anybody not know we're doing High School Musical 2?" Carlos asked everyone.

"We are? Whoo-hoo!" EJ cheered causing Carlos to groan.

Lily and I sat down together on the couch and I started to talk to people as she wrapped her arm around my shoulders. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Gina staring at Lily.

"I'm getting a root beer." Gina stood up. "Anyone want anything?

"I'm okay. Thank you." Ashlyn replied.

I looked at Lily to see her watching Gina walk away. Lily looked at me and gave me a small smile which I returned.

Lily's pov

"Okay, listen up. Rules of the game. This is important." Kourtney announced. "We need to set intentions and be accountable to one another this year."

"True that." Ashlyn said.

"This is a terrible party." Natalie interrupted.

"Hey, watch yourself." Kourtney told her. "All right, resolution number one. Anyone's guess." Kourtney pulled a piece of paper out of the bucket and unfolded it. "'I resolve to-' Oh, this is so stupid, I can't."

"Come on, Kourt, you have to read it." Nini told her.

"'I resolve to remember everybody fondly when I go to Duke'." Kourtney read. "Any guesses?"
