Nini's pov

I stood outside of Lily's bedroom window with a microphone in front of me and my ukulele. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and since this is our first Valentine's Day as a couple, I thought it would be fun to take a quick break from YAC, come back home, and surprise Lily.

When we were little, I used to show up at Lily's window, and she'd open the curtains with this big, goofy grin, and it always... Okay, this is corny, but it warms my heart. And I miss that smile, so, I guess you could say this is sort of a gift for me, too.

I started to play my ukulele as I looked at Lily's bedroom window. "I think of you when the wind blows. I see your face almost everywhere. Sure, maybe Salt Lake is not close. But im still breathing you in the air."

Lily's bedroom light turned on and the window opened but who opened the window was not Lily. I let out a scream when I saw the random girl in Lily's room and she screamed back.

"What are you doing?" The girl asked.

"What am I doing? Who are you... being?" I asked.

"What?" She furrowed her eyebrows.

"Where is Lily?" I wondered.

I walked around the YAC campus with my guitar case in my hand to surprise Nini. I took a last minute bus to Nini's boarding school for Valentines Day tomorrow. I wanted to surprise her and show her that nothing's changed between us.

I don't wanna brag, but I had a pretty romantic idea the other day. I believe the word is romcom.

"Excuse me." I walked up to a random girl. "I'm looking for a Nini Salazar-Roberts."

"Who?" She asked.

"New girl, from Salt Lake." I answered.

"Oh, I'm pretty sure she cut out a day early for the weekend." She informed me before glancing down at the guitar in my hand. "You weren't gonna do that outdoor serenade thing, were you? You realize this is a drama school? Everybody does that."

"Cool." I said as she walked passed me.

"I just can't believe we both totally missed each other last night. At least I still get to see you after school, right?" I looked back at my phone to see Lily asleep in the hallway. "Lillian."

She let out a gasp as she woke up. "Hey, at least I get to see you after school."

"Just said that." I smiled.

Lily let out a sigh as she rubbed her eyes. "I'm sorry."

"I can't believe I didn't know you moved." I said.

"Yeah, about that..."

"Oh, it's all good." I assured her. "I only had, like, three nightmares about the girl in the window."

"Yeah? Well, I spent all night freezing on the back of a bus bench and got no sleep, so, call it even?" Lily asked.

"You really went all the way to Denver just to say 'Happy Valentines Day'?" I asked.

"More like, to sing it. I kind of wrote you this song." Lily told me.

I sat up in my bed. "I wrote a song, too."

"Oh, come on." Lily chuckled.

"I wanna hear yours right now." I begged.

"Bowen. Hey, uh, we're starting. Miss Jenn's asking for you. You good?"
