(Courtney's POV)

After five class periods, it's finally lunch time.

I sit down at the table with Heather, Bridgette, Duncan and Geoff.

Heather:"Thank goodness our first day is almost over!"

Geoff:"Right! I just wanna go home!"

Everyone keeps talking, while I'm just staring at my food, trying not to eat it.

I can't eat it, I can't.

Duncan notices, and pulls out five dollars.

Duncan:"Heather you wanna go get everyone drinks?"

Heather looks at Duncan and nods.

Heather:"Yeah I will!"

Bridgette gets up slowly.

Bridgette:"I'll tag along as well!"

Geoff immediately gets up.

Geoff:"ILL COME TOO!"

Heather snatched the five dollar bill , and they head to the vending machine.

I push around my food a bit more, hoping it'll gross me out enough to not eat.

He looks at me, across the empty lunch table.

Duncan:"Princess, you need to eat." He said.

I shook my head no.

Courtney:"I can't I just can't Duncan!"

Duncan:"Court, you have to have something at least. Please." He said begging.

I told him no.

Bridgette, Geoff, and Heather all come back, and sit down.

Bridgette hands me a bottle of water.

Bridgette:"Here, we didn't know what to get you so we just got you water."

I give Bridgette a smile.

Courtney:"Thanks Bridgette!" I said while chugging the water down.

~FLASHBACK~

Courtney's mom:"COURTNEY GET DOWN HERE NOW!"

I rush down stairs to the sound of my mom's sand scraping yell.

Courtney:"Yes mom?"

Courtney's mom:"GET ON THE SCALE! AND IF YOUR OVER 90 POUNDS YOUR GONNA BE IN BUG TROUBLE!!"

I slowly get on the scale...

Courtney's mom shook her head.

Courtney's mom:"129!? COURTNEY THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS!?"

She scolds me for eating so much, and hits me for being over 90 pounds.

Courtney's mom:"THERE THAT'LL TEACH YOU SOMETHING!"

I ran up to my room crying about how fat I am.
That's why I don't eat.

I don't eat to avoid being hit by my own mother.

If I'm not model thin, she won't love me.

No one will.

That's my biggest fear, besides the green jello.

Not being good enough for anyone.

Being alone.

I start to form tears in my eyes, thinking of that memory.

I ran off to the nearest girls restroom.

(Duncan's POV)

Courtney just ran off.

For no reason?

Bridgette:"Why did Courtney run off?"

Everyone's talking about why would Courtney run off like that.

Oh crap!

She's gonna throw up the water she just had!

I quickly run off to find the nearest restroom, but I'm too late.

I walk in the girls restroom, to find Courtney on the gross, bathroom floor crying.

I sat down right beside her, gently wiping away her tears.

Duncan:"It's okay Courtney." I say comforting her.

She's shaking, scared for her life.

I hold her close to me, wiping the rest of her tears away with the sleeve of my shirt.

I get up and offer Courtney a hand.

Courtney accepts it, getting up from the floor.

She walks over to a mirror, to see her makeup is all ruined.

She wipes the mascara off, and hugs me.

Courtney:"Thank you Duncan. Didn't think you were this nice." She says.

After fifteen minutes, we walk out the restroom, and  go back to the lunch table, holding hands.
