The soft morning light filtered through Jia's window, casting a warm glow over her peaceful room. She lay nestled in her bed, her favorite teddy bear cradled in her arms, when the insistent ring of her phone pierced the quiet. Groggily, she reached out and answered without even opening her eyes.

"Hello?" Jia murmured, her voice thick with sleep.

"Jia?" The voice on the other end sent a jolt through her. It was Rian, the boy from school who had captured her thoughts and heart in recent weeks.

At the sound of his name, Jia's heart fluttered. She couldn't believe he was calling her so early, especially since they were still in that delicate dance of mutual attraction, not yet friends but definitely more than acquaintances.

"Rian?" Jia's voice was a mix of surprise and curiosity as she sat up in bed, finally opening her eyes.

"Yeah, it's me," Rian replied warmly. "Sorry if I woke you."

Jia shook her head, even though he couldn't see her. "No, it's okay. I'm up now," she said, her cheeks flushing as she remembered their kiss from a few days ago. "How did you get my number?"

There was a soft chuckle on the other end. "I may have asked around," Rian admitted playfully. "I wanted to hear your voice."

Jia felt her blush deepen at his honesty. "I'm glad you called," she replied softly, a smile tugging at her lips. "I was actually thinking about you."

They fell into an easy conversation, sharing bits of their morning routines and little anecdotes about their lives outside of school. Rian's voice was a comforting melody in the early hours, and Jia found herself smiling more than she ever had before breakfast.

Reluctantly, they said their goodbyes, promising to meet at school. Jia hung up the phone, feeling a rush of excitement mingled with nervousness. She quickly got ready for the day, her thoughts filled with anticipation of seeing Rian again.

Arriving at school, Jia was slightly late, but she hurried down the familiar hallways. Unexpectedly, she spotted Rian waiting for her in a quiet corner, leaning casually against the wall. Their eyes met, and a smile spread across his face, warming her from the inside out.

As she approached, Rian's expression softened even further. Without a word, he leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, causing Jia's heart to skip a beat. She blushed furiously at his sweet gesture, her eyes darting away shyly.

Rian chuckled softly at her reaction, unable to hide his own smile. Taking her hand in his, he intertwined their fingers gently. "Let's go," he said softly, his voice carrying a warmth that matched the morning sun.

Jia nodded, feeling a surge of happiness at his touch. They walked together in comfortable silence, their intertwined fingers speaking volumes about their budding connection. With Rian beside her, Jia couldn't help but feel like everything was falling into place, as if she had found something precious and new in the early morning light.
