Mr. Bentley: Thank you, Theo.

Theo: You're welcome, Mr. Bentley. *He goes back to his seat and reads a book. *

Mr. Bentley: 10 minutes left, students. Take your time when you're doing the test. *Other people were still working on the test. *

Chloe: (putting the last few answers) 'Okay, that should be it.' *She put in the last answer hide the answer sheet in her purse, walked up to Mr. Bentley's desk, and placed the test paper on his desk. *

Mr. Bentley: Thank you, Chloe.

Mrs. Stakes: Okay, time to go over the assignment I have for you all.

Matt: Hopefully I'll understand some more when she explains this stuff.

Bill: Same.

Mrs. Stakes: Okay letter a, 4x+1=2x+7. Who has the answer to this one? *A few students raised their hands. * Hope?

Hope: It's x=3.

Mrs. Stakes: Okay. Come up and tell us how you got the answer. *Hope stands up and she solves the problem. After she solved it, she circled x=3. *

Hope: That's my answer. I subtract 2x to both sides, I get 2x+1=7, I subtract 1 to both sides, I get 2x=6, I divide 2 to both sides and I get x=3. I plug in 3 to x and both equations equal 13, so that's the answer.

Mrs. Stakes: Thank you, Hope. You are correct. I hope you all got the answer.

Matt: Too easy.

Mrs. Stakes: Letter b, 5x+4=3x+16. Who has the answer to this one? *Elena raised her hand. * Elena?
