Kimi stretched, feeling a dull ache in his muscles. He had barely slept last night, the fever wracking his body in waves, but he couldn't afford to miss training. The race was just around the corner, and any sign of weakness would be unacceptable. Kimi pushed himself up, suppressing a cough as he walked towards the training field.

-Hey, Kimi!-Dino called, waving enthusiastically. His bright smile contrasted sharply with Kimi's pale face, but he forced a grin and waved back.

-Morning, Dino- he replied, hoping his voice didn't betray his exhaustion.

Training started as usual. Kimi threw himself into the drills, pushing his body harder than usual. Sweat poured down his face, mixing with the clammy heat of his fever. He felt his head spinning, but he refused to slow down. Every step, every punch, and every kick felt like a battle against his own body.

Dino, always observant, couldn't help but notice Kimi's unsteady movements. He frowned, watching his stumble slightly during a particularly intense drill. Kimi never stumbled. He was always the picture of precision and control. Something was definitely off.

-Kimi, are you okay?-Dino asked during a break, his eyes filled with concern.

-Yeah, just... didn't sleep well,- Kimi replied, wiping his forehead and trying to sound nonchalant. -I'll be fine.

Dino wasn't convinced. He watched his carefully, noticing the way his hands trembled slightly and how he seemed to struggle with his breathing. Training continued, but Dino kept a close eye on him, ready to step in if needed.

Finally, during sparring, Kimi's body betrayed him. He missed a block, and the impact sent him sprawling to the ground. He lay there for a moment, gasping for breath, his vision blurring.

-Kimi!-Dino was at his side in an instant, helping him sit up. -What's wrong? You've been off all morning.

Kimi looked up at him, his eyes filled with frustration and exhaustion. -I'm fine, Dino. Just... need a minute.

Dino shook his head, his worry deepening. -You're not fine, Kimi. You're burning up. Why didn't you tell anyone you were sick?

Kimi tried to push him away, but his strength was waning. -I didn't want to seem weak. The race is so close, and I can't afford to miss training.

Dino sighed, helping him to his feet. -Being sick doesn't make you weak, Kimi. Pushing yourself like this could do more harm than good.

Kimi leaned on him, his resistance fading. -I just... didn't want to let anyone down.

Dino looked at him, his expression softening. -You won't let anyone down by taking care of yourself. Let's get you to the infirmary.

Reluctantly, Kimi nodded, his  body finally giving in to the fatigue. Dino supported him as they walked, his concern evident in every step.

As they reached the infirmary, Dino helped him onto a bed, and the medics immediately began to check him over. He stayed by his side, holding his hand as he drifted in and out of consciousness.

-Thank you, Dino-he murmured weakly.

Dino smiled, squeezing his hand gently. -Always, Kimi. Just promise me you'll take it easy for a while. We need you at your best, and that means getting better first.

Kimi nodded, a small smile on his  lips as he finally allowed himself to rest. He knew Dino was right, and for the first time in a long while, he felt at peace knowing he didn't have to face everything alone.

Days passed, and Kimi slowly recovered. Dino visited him every day, bringing him meal, dates on training, and even some jokes to lighten his mood. They talked fring stories and dreams, growing closer with each passing day.

One evening, as the sun set, casting a warm glow through the infirmary window, Kimi looked at Dino with newfound clarity. -You know, I've been thinking. You've been so amazing through all of this. I don't know what I would have done without you.

Dino blushed, rubbing the back of his neck. -Hey, it's nothing. I just want to see you healthy and happy.

Kimi reached out, taking his hand in his -It's not nothing to me. You've been my rock, Dino. I... I think I've fallen for you.

Dino's eyes widened in surprise, then softened with affection. -Kimi, I've felt the same way for a while now. I just didn't know how to tell you.

They sat in silence for a moment, the world outside fading away as they looked into each other's eyes. Then, slowly, they leaned in, their lips meeting in a gentle, tender kiss.

As they pulled away, Dino smiled. -So, what now?

Kimi grinned, his strength returning along with hia resolve. -Now, I get better.  And maybe... something more.

Dino squeezed his hand, his heart full. -I wouldn't have it any other way.
