Prologue

"Lisa! Have you seen my message?" Chaeyoung was rushing towards her, holding a notebook and reaching out to Lisa while she caught her breath.

"I- uhm..." Chaeyoung was breathing frantically while holding her chest. Lisa looked concerned while she reached for the notebook that Chaeyoung was giving to her. She chuckled, patting Chaeyoung's back.

"You okay?" All Chaeyoung replied was a thumbs up, to which she responded with a snicker.

"What's this all about?" She lightly hit Chaeyoung's head with the notebook, which was still bent down, catching her breath. "And what's with the rush?"

Chaeyoung finally gained her composure and fixed her blouse. "We need a model." She pointed at the notebook that Lisa's holding.

"The investors need someone who's fitting for their brand image and we need to find a model who's fit for the photoshoot."

Lisa raised her brows. "Isn't that the other team's work? We don't scout, Chae. We do photoshoots."

Chae rolled her eyes. "That's the point, but we can't do anything about it. It's the director's decision."

"What?" Her brows furrowed in confusion. "We can't just-"

"The workload of the scouting team is piled up since he accepted a lot of sponsors." Chaeyoung shrugged. "Like I said, you can't do anything about it."

Lisa simply shrugged. "He's my father, he definitely has a soft spot for me."

"No."

Lisa froze in her seat, her jaw dropped while she stared at her father in disbelief. "Mr. Bruschweiler, we can-"

"No." He leaned back in his seat and continued signing the papers on his table. "You need to know what it's like to scout, Lisa."

He placed his pen down and looked at his daughter with a smile. "The effort, the time you sacrifice, and the seriousness of this work." He adjusted his glasses. "You're not going to be a photographer for this company forever, Lisa."

"But-"

"You're my only daughter and I trust you that you can manage this company for me, so prove it."

"Dad-"

"Or I'll give the company to Taehyung." He stated, looking seriously at the bewildered woman in front of him.

He noticed Lisa's eyes darkened when he mentioned the name of her stepbrother. He knew what impact Taehyung had on Lisa, and he knew that Lisa didn't want to be associated with him, after everything Taehyung did to her.

But this is the only way he would push Lisa to her limits.

Lisa snatched the notebook Chaeyoung gave her earlier from the table and left her dad's office without any goodbyes.

Lisa seemed to be lost in her own thoughts. She seemed to not hear the music of the bar or even Chaeyoung beside her as she pinched her plump lips while staring at nowhere.

"Hey, are you even listening to what I'm blabbering about?" Chaeyoung irritately smacked Lisa's head, catching her off guard, and causing Lisa's forehead to hit the cold marble counter of the bar.

Chaeyoung's whole soul was sucked out of her when Lisa glared furiously at her. Chaeyoung attempted to grin at the person who was beside her, but it looked as if she was cringing.

"You better tell me important shit or I'll shave that dry blonde ass hair off of your head."

Chaeyoung nervously chuckled, "Well, I asked the scouting team for help..." She leaned closer to Lisa. "Please don't tell Mr. Bruschweiler about this." She whispered.

Lisa fixed her position, letting out a huff of breath while nodding. "What happened?"

"Cocktail for Lisa." The bartender called, placing the glass in front of her.

"They gave me the so-called perfect model for "Therese's"." Her face lightened up. She grabbed her bag, searching for something.

Lisa had researched about Therese's after she exited her father's office. It's a fashion brand, mainly revolving around jewelry and accessories. They're currently promoting their new set of eyewear since summer is coming up.

Chaeyoung placed a business card in front of Lisa. "That's the model that they hand-picked just for the shooting." She chimed, her eyes shining in anticipation.

Lisa nonchalantly nodded, not even looking at the card for info.

She gently sipped on her cocktail, "Contact the model. Tell them to meet us at the cafeteria of our building at 9 o'clock tomorrow."
