LOVE WINS

Sunghoon pov:

I couldn't sleep at all last night, and the main reason was Jang Wonyoung. Every time I closed my eyes, I replayed the moment from the library in my mind-how close we had been to almost sharing a kiss.

The way her eyes sparkled under the warm glow of the lamp, the way she bit her lip in surprise as our faces moved closer together. Why did I let that happen? I never talk to girls, and Wonyoung is the first girl I've really interacted with. She's smart, cute, and effortlessly charming, which makes my heart race whenever I think of her.

I shook my head, trying to shake off the embarrassing moment that felt like it was tattooed in my brain.

"Get a grip Sunghoon"
I muttered to myself. I rolled out of bed and went through my usual morning routine, one that felt oddly mundane against the backdrop of my chaotic thoughts. I splashed cold water on my face, hoping it would wake me up and clear my head. After brushing my teeth, I changed into my favorite sporty outfit: a loose-fitting black hoodie and comfortable gray joggers. It made me feel ready for the day, even if my mind was still preoccupied with Wonyoung.

Breakfast was a hurried affair. I threw a couple of eggs into the frying pan and toasted a slice of bread, barely tasting the food as my thoughts wandered back to her. I recalled her laughter, that infectious sound that seemed to light up the room. I could still remember the way she brushed a strand of hair behind her ear when she was nervous. I shook my head again, trying to focus on my meal, but it was no use. The image of her shy smile was too vivid, too distracting.

At university, while I stood checking my phone, I noticed Wonyoung sneak up behind me, trying to go unnoticed. She thought I didn't see her, but I couldn't help but smile-she was too cute. I turned slightly, pretending to be engrossed in my
screen, just to catch a glimpse of her expression.

I headed to class where I met up with my best friend, Jake. He was already sitting at our usual table, leaning back in his chair and looking far too pleased with himself.

"How was your little date with Miss Jang yesterday?"
he teased, a mischievous grin plastered on his face.

I hated when he started teasing me, especially since I knew I couldn't keep anything from him. He had a knack for reading me like a book. "It was not a date!" I protested, trying to sound more convincing than I felt. But deep down, I felt the heat rising in my cheeks, and I knew I was losing the battle.

Jake leaned closer, clearly enjoying my discomfort. "Come on, man. You were practically glowing when you walked in here. It's obvious you like her."

Before I could respond, Wonyoung entered the classroom. She looked around nervously, as if trying to find a familiar face in the crowd. My heart skipped a beat when I noticed her searching for us. She seemed shy, glancing around as if unsure of herself. I wanted to wave her over, to let her know it was okay to sit with us, but instead, I held my breath and watched.

"Hey, Jake, do you mind if we switch seats?" she asked, her voice soft but firm. Jake hesitated, pretending to think it over for a moment before relenting, much to my surprise.

"Hey, I like my place" he protested.

"Come on, please, I'll help you with your homework". She said, trying to convince him.

Jake's eyes lit up, and then he replied
"Sure, but keep your promise," he said, as he put his bag on our table, while wonyoung sat behind me.

The class started, but I found it hard to concentrate on the lecture. I kept sneaking glances at Wonyoung, who was focused on the professor, her brow furrowed in concentration. I admired the way she bit her lip when she was deep in thought. It was such a small thing, but it made my heart flutter.

The day flew by faster than I expected. I stuffed my things into my backpack and quickly left the classroom, my mind still buzzing with thoughts of Wonyoung. I wanted to find a way to talk to her more, to learn about her interests, her dreams, and everything that made her who she was.

After class, I went to my part-time job, the hours dragging on as I worked until midnight. The restaurant was busy, and I found myself serving tables, but my mind kept drifting back to Wonyoung. I wondered if she liked dogs because I couldn't wait to show her my little pupy, Gaeul.

By the time I reached home, I was completely exhausted. I fed my little dog, who greeted me with wagging tails and joyful barks, and then I collapsed onto my bed. As I lay there, the last thought on my mind before drifting off was Wonyoung-her laughter, her shy smile, and the way she made everything feel a little brighter.

I realized then that I had developed a little crush on her, and I couldn't help but wonder what the upcoming days would bring.
