「 ✦ seven. but it wasn't ✦ 」

after the hospital visit, it was rather awkward between penny and tim as for once, the brunette wasn't sure what to say. they drove around in the patrol car for a short while before a call came through the shops radio "7-adam-19, report of a biker gang, drunk and disorderly at the hard road bar"

"are you gonna be okay to do this?" penelope worried "we could always-

"no, it's fine"

"no, you're not okay to do this or no-"

"don't, valentine" he grumbled just as they pulled up in front of the bar, seeing dozens of bikers outside. penny began getting a little nervous seeing as tim obviously wasn't in the best headspace to be dealing with dangerous situations "how do you identify a motorcycle club, doc? and you damn well better know the answer after being such a smartass"

"the three rockers on the back of their jackets they show their gang name, logo, and state of origin 'dead bastards MC'?" she read off one of the jackets "creative" penny shrugged sarcastically.

"and which one of these guys is the most dangerous?" tim didn't let her answer before he continued, leading to penny trying her best not to look annoyed. she really had to work on her self control when it came to being the best at things "see them? those are prospects. they haven't earned their top rocker yet, and there's only one way to get it. commit a felony in view of another gang member, which means what?"

"somebody's gonna try to fight us when we get out of this car" she answered quickly, looking at tim for approval.

"exactly"

"i assume we're not calling for backup, then?"

"where's the fun in that?"

"i find backup very fun actually" she stuttered nervously "it's my favourite thing, 'where's penny?' 'oh, she's just calling for backup, you know how she is' my middle name is backup, penelope backup valentine that's me!" she continued as they both got out of the car, penny watching as tim walked up to the bikers. one of them suddenly threw a bottle down onto the ground causing it to break at his feet.

tim raised an eyebrow, watching all the bikers glare at him without moving closer at all. "now, that's just sad" he provoked "either you're man enough to come at me or you're not. now, who needs a felony?

"what the hell are you doing? i know i'm annoying but there's no need to get us both killed!" she whispered to him, not taking her eyes off the men who were essentially circling them.

"look, i'm not gonna repeat myself. this is a one-time offer, and it's about to expire. you beat me, i won't even book you, i beat you, you go to jail, and your buddies hit the road"

"come on, jordan. you got this" one of the men yelled, another stepping forward.

"you better hope to god that jordan doesn't got this" she whisper-yelled at tim before stepping away and laying a hand on her gun. she was more on edge than she was when tim got shot.

"let's go!" the man, jordan, yelled and yet another bottle was thrown towards tim, who swatted it away. penelope's eyes were darting from the ongoing fight to the bikers who were attentively keeping an eye on her. the two men fought for a bit but eventually, tim managed to get jordan face down on the pavement.
