Epilogue

(Snowman will be ending this one, as always. I'm sure he's happily shedding down on everyone from heaven.)

He couldn't have been happier. 

Flipping a burger on the new grill they'd just purchased, Baron watched the two loves of his life play on the huge jungle gym they'd built last week. 

Prince was hanging on the monkey bars with Tili's kitten easily balancing on his fuzzy shoulders and head. 

They had switched shifts again, leaving him to watch a relaxing Rexy while his hyper raccoon enjoyed running around with King and his daughter. 

Several months had passed and Tili was already two weeks into pre-K. She absolutely loved it, and he loved being able to have some more alone time with his boyfriend. 

He was glad that King didn't change at all after their first time together. Sometimes he wanted to have sex, but other times he didn't. He never hesitated to decline if he wasn't interested, and that was totally fine with him. 

Adding some sliced bell peppers and pineapple to the grill, he checked the other burgers before returning his attention to his loves. 

They had moved to the slide now, with Prince carrying Tili's kitten as they zoomed down it with Prince on his back and Tili riding on his fuzzy belly. They landed in a bit of a lump, but it didn't take them long to untangle themselves, then, surprisingly, run all the way up the small grassy hill and onto the deck towards him! 

With a kitten climbing his left pant leg and a raccoon hugging his right, Baron quickly got his cooking done and set the full plates aside. He'd intended to pick up both his loves and get them ready for dinner, but when he suddenly got much closer to the ground, he realized that dinner was just going to have to wait. 

Rexy wasn't too interested in playing, but Prince didn't seem like he was going to take squeak for an answer. He soon had the poor otter in his arms and was dragging it back down the hill with Tili happily prancing along beside them.

He was promptly tugged up the little steps and platforms to the slide, then unceremoniously tossed down it with a startled squeak! He managed to recover quickly once at the bottom, and moved away just in time to avoid being bowled over by a plump raccoon and purring kitten!

Although, honestly, as he stood to the side and watched the two untangle themselves again, he couldn't not see it. 

She's grown. 

When she ran over to him a moment later, he realized just how much. 

She's getting close to Rexy's size already.

He was going to cry. 

Through all of the stress of the past few years, on top of their most recent dilemma, he'd missed watching his daughter grow up. 

Tili didn't seem to sense his unease, however, because she immediately began circling him, rubbing the side of her face against his while at the same time, nipping at his nose!

You little brat... I love you so darn much. 

Prince came over at that moment and, seeing Tili as an example, promptly grabbed poor Rexy in a bear hug and began trying to fit the little otter's entire face in his mouth!

Of course, Rexy wasn't going to stand for that kind of treatment, and before Prince could thankfully do any damage, he got quite a few paws to the snout until he regrettably released him. 

They all played for a while longer on the equipment, though Rexy was dragged more than anything, until he had to run back over to the grill area and shift to answer his phone.
