CHAPTER THREE: THE WEDDING
'AURTHOR'
The grand ballroom of the opulent hotel was a stark contrast to the chilly undertone of the day. Crystal chandeliers cast a soft glow on the extravagant white roses and silver decorations that filled the space. Today marked the union of Soobin, the infamous mafia boss, and Yeonjun, the CEO of a prominent corporation. What should have been a grand celebration was instead a cold display of power and necessity.
'CHOI SOOBIN'
I stood in the groom’s suite, the black tuxedo I wore a symbol of the power I wielded and the business deal that had led to this moment. My brother, Taehyun, was beside me, his own expression a mix of frustration and disbelief.
“Do you really have to go through with this?” Taehyun asked, his voice low but tense.
I adjusted my cufflinks, staring at my reflection. “you know our mother taehyun, that woman will do anything to make me marry someone”
Taehyun chuckled. “mom jusr wants you to get married but making you marry someone you met in your childhood one time feels like a crime”
I met his eyes in the mirror. “well, it's already set in stone. Can't complain”
Taehyun crossed his arms, clearly unhappy. “Well, if you’re stuck in this mess, at least try not to let it ruin you.”
“Don’t worry,” I said, trying to sound confident. “I’ll handle it.”
'CHOI YEONJUN'
The tuxedo i wore was so tight that i couldn'tbreath but who cares let'sget over with this. Stylists and assistants worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was perfect for the public spectacle that was my wedding. My brother, Beomgyu, leaned against the wall, his face a mixture of a happy one and somehow sad .
“Finally, the house will be so much calm now, but on the second thought..are you sure about this?” Beomgyu asked, looking at me with concern.
I sighed, adjusting the collar of my white suit. “It’s not about what I want, Beomgyu. It’s what our families decided.”
Beomgyu shook his head. “You know, I never understood how these arrangements work. It’s like playing chess with people’s lives.”
I forced a smile. “Sometimes you have to play the hand you’re dealt.”
Beomgyu sighed. “Just try to get through it with as much dignity as you can.”
I looked out the window, the city skyline a reminder of the world outside this artificial bubble. “I’ll do my best.”
'AURTHOR'
The ceremony commenced with all the pomp and circumstance expected of such a high-profile union. I walked down the aisle, my steps measured and deliberate, aware of the eyes on me from both the elite and the criminal underworld. Soobin stood at the altar, his gaze cool and detached, a mirror of my own feelings.
The officiant began, his voice resonating through the hall.
“Do you, Soobin, take Yeonjun to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
Soobin’s response was steady, though his tone was as icy as his demeanor. “I do.”
“And do you, Yeonjun, take Soobin to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
Yeonjun's eyes met Soobin’s eyes, his expression as impassive as soobin's. “I do.”
The vows were exchanged without emotion, and the rings were placed on our fingers. The officiant declared us married, and the guests—both corporate magnates and mafia affiliates—observed with polite, yet distant, interest.
