Moonlight

those nights,      when the full moon      stood in

  the night sky,

waiting for destiny      to pilot.

the stars which I once harkened

are the glory of men,      encompassed the moon      like an army of soldiers.

father and I      sat on plastic chairs     his were always      in twofold

we both wallowed in      the natural brightness      of the full moonlight

I confabulated with him      after telling me

     to give him distance        the

mainstream smoke      engendered from      Rothmans cigarettes      were

deleterious      to my health,      he said      and there I was      reminiscing

him of the dangers      of smoking, but       all he ever said      before inhaling another

mainstream smoke was,      "how many people      do you know

that died of cigarette?"      Yet,      spending time with father during

moonlight were     the best moments       during those years      Yes,      they were

before destiny again,       piloted him home.
