Hey guys! I know it's been awhile. I didn't know where I wanted to take this McReedus story so I gave it a break for awhile. So I'm gonna give it a go again. Hope you enjoy and thank you for being so patient with me!

-------------------------------------------------------
Mel and I hailed a cab to my apartment to drop our bags off. I flipped the lights on and Mel gasped. "This place is huge!" She exclaimed as she walked around the room.

I shrugged and brought our bags into the middle of the living room. "Yeah, it's huge. But it's not home. I don't know why I keep it still. But I guess I need somewhere to stay when I'm in New York a lot." I said.

She looked at me with a sad look on her face, "Norm I know you're not happy here. I can see it in your face and hear it in your voice. I know if you didn't have to come here for work you'd cut all ties with New York. Am I right?" She asked as she crossed her arms and stood in front of me.

Her gaze burned through me. I sighed, "Yeah Mel. You're right." She smiled and wrapped her arms around my neck, "Cheer up Norm. You get to see your son!" She yelled excitedly. I laughed, "I know. Just gotta wait on the call." I told her.

Just as I went to kiss her my phone started going off in my pocket. Mel stepped away and I dug my phone out. The name Mingus flashed across the screen. I answered immediately, "Hey buddy." I said "Dad! I can't wait to see you!" He yelled through the phone.

I laughed. "I can't wait to see you too buddy. Where's mom? Can I talk to her?" Mingus sighed and handed the phone to his mom. "Helena where do you want to meet?" I asked her. I listened to what restaurant she picked and what time and hung up with her.

"So when do we get to see Mingus?" Mel asked coming from out of the bathroom. "In fifteen minutes. You ready?" I asked her. She shrugged, "I'm meeting the mother of your son. I'm as ready as I'll ever be." I knew she was nervous. "Mel, relax. She's just the biggest bitch you'll ever meet." I told her. She laughed but I knew it was fake.

We caught a elevator and made our way outside to catch a cab. As Mel was trying to hail a cab I was lost in my thoughts. Did I really make the right choice bringing Mel with me? I love Mel and I want her to be apart of Mingus's life, but Helena will eat her for breakfast. I was pulled out of my thoughts by Melissa, "Norm come on! Let's go see Mingus!" She said pulling on my arm. I followed her inside the cab and thought about all the shit that could go wrong. Well, this should be fun... I thought.
