School was just as boring as any other day. Serenity felt like it lasted longer than a day. But when it was over, she knew that she'd get the chance to talk to Eryx. She'd been so curious about him. Before she'd fallen asleep, all she had been wondering about was him. He didn't even tell her his last name.

She was anxious enough for a reason to get out of the house. If she happened to be late for dinner, that might not be the worst thing in the world. Unless Daphne exploded into a billion pieces. Although Serenity wasn't sure if that was so bad.

She'd been thinking a lot about what they'd been talking about at night and she still couldn't make sense of it. She'd come to the conclusion that it was just her family being paranoid. Curses weren't real. Spirits and ghosts weren't real.

"Where are you going?" Salvadore asked, watching Serenity leave her room and go towards the stairs.

"Nowhere."

"Uh huh. And you expect to tell Mother and Father that?"

Serenity clenched her teeth together. She wasn't planning on telling her parents at all. "I'm going to the library."

"Oh, can I come with?"

"No."

"What? Why not?"

"Because I'm still mad at you." She turned and went down the stairs before she had to keep talking to him. She still couldn't believe that he was pretending like nothing had happened, but of course he would. That was classic Salvadore. Just so that he could look good and she looked bad.

Salvadore followed her down, keeping his distance. "Hey, where are you two going?" Arrow said. "You just got back from school."

"I need a book for a report." Serenity lied. "I was going to go to the library to look for one."

"Bring your brother with."

"But—"

"Either you bring him with or you don't go."

Serenity grunted, shaking her head. Maybe she could dump him at the library and sneak towards the bakery. "Relax, I won't talk to you if you don't want me to." Salvadore said, pulling the door open for her.

Serenity sighed, crossing her arms. She didn't want to go to the library at all. Salvadore would just have to deal. He didn't notice until Serenity continued straight instead of turning to the right to go to the library.

"Where are you going?" Salvadore asked. "Library is that way."

"Then why don't you go there?" Serenity hissed. "I'm not going to the library. Seeing that you so desperately wanted to go to the library, you should just go on your own."

"I didn't want to go to the library, I wanted to talk to you." Salvadore said. "You can't just keep ignoring me."

Hadn't he just said that he wouldn't talk to her? "No, I think I can do that pretty damn well."

"You know that you're not supposed to curse."

"Then tell Mother and Father and get me into more trouble than you've already gotten me in." Serenity sneered. "Just go home or go to the library and we don't have to go through this."

Salvadore sighed. "Where are you going if you're not going to the library?"

"None of your business."

"I'm responsible for you when we're out. I think it's directly my business."

"Well, good thing you're coming with me then, huh?" Serenity said, rolling her eyes. Why couldn't he just go away. He'd gotten her into enough trouble. They were supposed to be a team. Now he was just against her.
