Kirby was quick to get into a defensive stance soon as as he locked eyes with King Dedede.
Dedede lets out a huff and a puff before charging at Kirby, reeling his hammer back. Before his hammer could manage to hit his target, Kirby dodges with a somersault to the side, but Dedede swiftly turned around and strike Kirby, sending him flying into a pile of rubble with a yelp.
"Kirby, take this!" Meta Knight yells out, tossing his spare sword to Kirby as he unsheathes Galaxia. Kirby inhales the sword, earning the Copy Ability: Sword.
As King Dedede swings his hammer down on Kirby with an unfamiliar ferocity, Kirby steps aside and swings his blade upwards with a leap and dives down. Dedede snarls as he takes damage, countering with an uppercut. Kirby jumps back, narrowly evading Dedede's hammer.
In the distance, Meta Knight is trying to get the injured Hero to leave the area. However, the Hero persists and refuses to leave, insisting that he can still fight and lying through his teeth.
Kirby parries a pound from Dedede's hammer, pushing against each other as they struggle to overpower one another. Soon, Kirby fails to maintain his stance and is pushed back onto the ground.
Dedede, taking advantage of Kirby's momentary weakness, swings his hammer sidewards and sweeps Kirby away, slamming him into a pair of crashed cars with a pained whimper.
He gets back on his feet, eyes narrow with determination and slight skepticism. With a cry, Kirby charges at Dedede with his sword pointed towards him, dashing forward and slicing through.
Dedede narrowly dodges Kirby's blade, but not without getting his arm hurt. Kirby turns and swings once more, knocking the hammer off Dedede's hand.
Dedede grits his teeth, momentarily distracted by the loss of his weapon. Kirby takes advantage of his occupied state and aims to strike once more, swinging his sword and again and again, repeatedly dealing damage until he finishes with an overhead slash that sends Dedede to the ground. Kirby then jumps back to create distance.
Dedede stumbles onto his feet as his and Kirby's eyes dart to the hammer on the ground between them. Their eyes dart back to eachother, Dedede's narrowing in a glare.
With a low growl, he grinds his teeth and dashes to his dropped weapon. Simultaneous to King Dedede, Kirby sprints off his spot to prevent Dedede from retrieving his hammer. As soon as they get close, they launch themselves off the ground, hands extended towards the weapon on the ground.
Dedede easily manages to push Kirby out of of the way and take hold of his hammer once more, relieved by the feeling of having it under his grip again. Kirby gets back on his feet and breathes deeply, determined to defeat Dedede and find out why he's suddenly so enraged.
Meanwhile, Meta Knight finally managed to persuade the Hero into leaving the zone, but not without the latter calling for help, which he didn't quite get to do until now. Helicopters have been broadcasting the unexpected fight between the puffball and the penguin since before Kirby arrived.
Dedede charges his hammer to swing, the wood starting to spark into flames as he slowly draws closer to Kirby. Kirby prepares to guard himself, having been backed into a corner.
By the time Dedede was ready to swing, Meta Knight sweeps into the battle from above and kicks Dedede off balance, effectively saving Kirby from a flaming K.O..
Before Dedede could steady himself on his feet again, Kirby lunges at him and jumps off his feet the second he hits the ground and performs an aerial twist with his sword outstretched, wounding Dedede further. Sparing him no time to counter, Meta Knight thrusts forward and slashes at him horizontally, afterwards winding his blade back and sending a finishing blow that sends Dedede to the ground one more time.
Only now has the backup called for arrived, met with two unknown spheres wielding swords and their unconscious target. One of the people that happened to arrive as well are Shota and the other people that were formerly at the police station.
