By the time Alayna finished with Craig and drove back down to Tayo's side, it was almost night. She had been calling his phone all day. She parked by the entrance of the basketball court and stormed in, and of course, saw Tayo and his boys chilling.
"Oh shit, Taze, your girl looks pissed!" Twosie said. His boys laughed.
"Laynie, you alright?" Tayo asked her.
"Am I fucking alright, Tayo? I was calling you all fucking day." She grabbed his hand and led him to the side. There were a lot of "ooohs" and "ahhhs" from his boys.
"Someone's in trouble!" one of his boys shouted. Alayna just rolled her eyes. Tayo took out his phone, looked at it, and his eyes widened.
"My fault, I—" Tayo started.
"Explain later. Listen. Craig is out of prison. He's coming here to start some shit, so we have to leave now." Alayna said, her eyes wide and breathing heavy.
"I got my guys and my power—" Tayo started again but got cut off.
"Tayo. How many times do I have to tell you that you're not invincible? For God's sake, listen to me for once!" She started whisper-shouting so the other guys wouldn't hear her. Tayo nodded.
"Yo, let's go." Tayo said to everyone that was still sitting on the benches and chilling. Everyone was confused but obliged. But as they were leaving, they heard multiple cars pull up.
"I wasn't fast enough." Alayna said, putting her hands on her head.
People got out of the cars and speed-walked to Tayo and his goons. Craig pulled out two guns and aimed them at Tayo. Alayna immediately stepped in front of him. Craig and his crew laughed.
"You need your girlfriend to come save you?" Craig laughed even harder.
"Kraze." Tayo said in acknowledgment, kind of backing up.
"You try to rob me, Tayo?" Craig said, still pointing the guns at both Tayo and Alayna.
Alayna looked at Tayo with her eyebrows raised. He shook his head slightly as if to tell her they'd talk about it later.
"He wasn't even there. It's one of them two that took it." one of Craig's goons said.
"Shut up," Twosie said. "Why the fuck are you lying, blud?"
Tayo then came to his senses and pushed Alayna behind him. "My boys ain't take nothing, Kraze." Tayo said, still looking Craig in the eyes.
Craig looked at his goon. "You seen them take it?" he asked.
"I ain't see them take it." the goon replied quietly.
"Exactly." Skreamer said.
"But they were the last two to look at it. By the time I got back to my yard, it was gone. Switched it with flour." the goon said.
"What are you talking about? You were watching us the whole time. You know we didn't take nuttin'." Twosie said, starting to get irritated.
"Speak again. I fucking dare you." the goon said, and Twosie backed down.
"Who lined it?" Craig asked.
"This yout here. My worker's cousin." the goon replied.
"Then bun him." Craig said.
"No!" Alayna said.
"Alayna, keep your fucking mouth shut." Craig said to her.
"Ay, one-on-one, man." Tayo suggested.
"One-on-one?" the goon said, laughing, and the rest of his crew started laughing too. "It's one on gun, rude boy." the goon said, getting in Tayo's face.
