Chapter 17: Showcase Night

(Timeskip)

(No POV)

As the day went by, the showcase event was coming near, and with Y/N accepting an offer from Brigitte to be the driver, he was taking the free time, mentally preparing himself for the fun yet intimidating environment he'd be in. As for Brigitte herself, she was doing some "research" on Karen, particularly her home address so she could send somebody to retrieve her and bring her to Brigitte for sinister reasons. She was going to show Karen that she should've never tried to make an advance on Y/N, she knew that Karen was going to ask him on a date and was thankful she unintentionally stopped that from happening by interrupting them. After all that was done, she exited her office to head over to where the showcase would take place, a prominent luxury hotel called the Kimpton Hotel Phoenix where a large space was rented for the occasion. She needed every detail right to make the night an excellent one.

Brigitte's mind- I hope it ends with me being with Y/N...alone.~

(Later that night)

(Y/N's POV)

I arrived at the place that the address told me to go and I didn't think it would be at a hotel, a pretty fancy one I might add, reminds me of when I worked at a hotel back in Austin, TX. I can't remember the name but the inside look of the two looked almost the same but with some Arizona flair. Anyway, I parked at a nearby parking lot where my fee was covered by Brigitte, which was nice of her to do. I exited my car with my vest on, amazon hat, and badge just in case they needed to verify I work at Amazon and whatnot, I arrived at the front door of the place and walked inside to see signs that pointed to the showcase location. I looked at the paper Brigitte gave me to see what time it started and it looked like I was here an hour early so that was good, I followed the signs to a hallway that led to a room where I saw multiple people inside so I know I'm heading in the right way. As I walked towards the entrance, a man stood before me and I stopped.

Man- Excuse me but are you authorized to be here?

Y/N- Uh Yeah I am, I am the driver for the electric van tonight in the showcase. The name is Y/N L/N.

The man took out his phone to look at something and shook his head.

.Man- Well, I don't see you on the attendance or staff list today, so I may have to ask you to leave.

Y/N- There must be a mistake, I was told to be here and I am the driver.

Man- I don't know what to tell you, sorry sir.

I didn't understand this, so I had to call Brigitte to ask her what was going on.

Y/N- Well, I have to make a quick call, excuse me.

I got out my phone dialed her number and waited for her to pick up, in no time, she picked up the call.

Brigitte- "Hello Y/N, how are you?"

Y/N- Hi Brigitte, so I am at the place and got here early and followed the signs but for some reason, this man won't let me in even though I am supposed to be here. He also claimed that I wasn't on the list, I tried to tell him that but he didn't believe me.

Brigitte "...Y/N...Put him on speaker please?"

Y/N- Sure.

I handed him the phone with a confused look on his face and he began to speak to her, then quickly he had this panicked look on his face and said sorry multiple times already.

Y/N's mind- I know she can be a bit intimidating at times but gee, glad I'm not on her bad side.

Then another minute later, he gave my phone back to me with Brigitte still on the line.
