When Cael and I arrived at the facility, the air was thick with antiseptic and the hum of medical equipment. The sterile environment was a stark contrast to the chaos we had just escaped. I helped Akira lift Cael from the van, he can barely able to stand on his own.
"This guy is one heavyweight man," she hysterically laughed at me while lifting Cael from her shoulders.
We hurriedly went to the surgery room to fully remove the bullet in his ankle, it looked severely damaged as I have noticed from a far.
Did I went too far for him?
I watched as Cael was carefully maneuvered onto an examination table. His face was a mask of pain, though he tried to keep it stoic. His once-pristine clothing was now smeared with blood, and his ankle, where the bullet had lodged, was already swelling and bruising in a ghastly shade of purple.
As I stood there, I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt mixed with frustration. This was supposed to be a calculated risk, but seeing him like this—pain-ridden and vulnerable—made me question the decisions I'd made. The bullet wound was severe, and though I had intended for it to appear as part of a staged escape, the reality of Cael's suffering weighed heavily on me.
"Lei, everything will be alright," Kai says as he tapped on my shoulders, "Cael is a strong man." I sighed and continued staring at the glass window where Cael is getting a surgery.
I noted the tension in the medical staff's movements as they prepared for the procedure. Their efficient yet gentle hands began to work, and I could see the meticulous care they were taking to clean and bandage the wound. Cael's grimaces with each touch were a harsh reminder of the danger we had did with.
"Once Elias and Sullivan heard about this. You're doomed, Lei." Jay chuckled however it doesn't mattered to me, thinking about the fact that our plan is to capture their attention.
I didn't thought it would go through this.

"You said I'll be escaping here in 6 days," He scoffed with that mischievous smile from him, he sounded eager to get out of prison lately.
