MERLIAH ARRIVED FASHIONABLY late to Nobu, by twenty minutes. Traffic had kept her up. She was a princess; she was never at fault. Her black Lamborghini Miura pulled up to the valet, stepping out in her beautiful pink dress. Merliah's brown locks cascaded down her back in loose curls.

The cameras began to flash as she made her public appearance, walking around her car and handing the car keys to the valet. "Enjoy your night, your highness." He spoke highly with a smile, bowing to his highness.

"Thank you. You aswell."

Merliah looked around and spotted Alexandra taking photos with a group of fans. Merliah walked up to her friend with a bright smile, enveloping her in a hug. "Merliah! I was starting to think you died on the way here." Alexandra joked, causing Merliah to chuckle.

"The traffic was so bad, Alexandra. You have no idea." She emphasized 'NO', rolling her eyes while doing so.

"Princess Merliah! Can we get a photo?" A little girl and her sister asked. Merliah smiled at the little girls and said, "Of course!" She posed for a photo with Alexandra and the little girls.

"Thank you so much! You're so pretty! I want to look just like you one day!" The older girl exclaimed while looking down at the photo.

"You're beautiful. Don't say that, be yourself." Her kind words lifted the two little girls up as they bowed and ran away to their mother. Merliah looked back up to Alexandra and asked, "Shall we go in?"

"Yes. They've already ordered."

"Okay, perf."

Merliah and Alexandra walked into the Michelin restaurant, stares already coming their way. Merliah and Alexandra were beautiful women, carrying themselves high. Going to team dinners was never unusual for Merliah, but this dinner made her nervous.

She wasn't familiar with any drivers besides Charles, who was Alexandra's boyfriend, of course. Merliah also didn't know much about the motorsport world. The only knowledge she had was of the Monaco Grand Prix, the race she was forced to attend by her family every year. Formula One was a big deal; she just didn't know it was about to become a part of her life.

The girls walked to the back of the restaurant and into the private room. The drivers sat at a long table, most of them sitting with their respective girlfriends.

As soon as Merliah walked in, all of their eyes were on her. They were anticipating seeing the Monegasquè princess and her beauty in person, and they weren't let down.

"Welcome, your highness!" Charles stood up, bowing and shaking her hand.

"Hello, everyone. You can drop the formalities; just call me Merliah." She spoke with a small wave, not wanting to make the setting awkward. Charles walked up to the two girls, taking his girlfriend's hand and leading them to their seats.

A brunette boy stood up, pulling out the chair for Merliah. He held out his hand for a handshake, Merliah accepting, "Nice to meet you. I'm Lando. Driver for McLaren."

Merliah sat down as he pushed the chair under and took his seat beside her.

"McLaren, huh?"

"Papaya for life." He joked.

She chuckled. "Do you live in Monaco?"

He nodded, taking a sip of his cocktail. "I do. I live near Charles and Alexandra. I'm usually here during the off-season."

Merliah listened as she studied his features. Brown curly hair, olive skin, and aquamarine blue eyes that flashed hints of blue or green depending on how he turned. He wore black slacks and a black shirt, the top few buttons remain unbuttoned to reveal his sculpted chest and diamond chain.

"I assume you're good friends with Alexandra?" He asked.

She nodded. "I am. Her and I met at University."

"Ah, University? Which one?"

"Paris. I have my bachelors in arts."

"Interesting. Do you want to do anything in the arts?" He questioned. Merliah liked that he wanted to get to know her personal life rather than her public image.

She thought, "I'd love to go into creating art. I enjoy painting."

"That's amazing. I'm not a good artist," He laughed, "I'm not good at much rather than racing."

"So you have no hobbies outside of racing?"

"I'm a professional golfer, racing is just a part-time thing." He joked, causing Merliah to laugh and smile brightly.

That smile could light up the world. She was a sun, and he was her star. Lando will admit that she was breathtaking. He would be thanking Charles later for insisting she sit beside him.
