The surgery is long and grueling. They fight to save me, to mend the broken pieces of a shattered boy. I slip in and out of consciousness, my mind drifting in a haze of pain and hunger. Finally, the darkness swallows me whole, pulling me into a deep coma.

Hospital Room

The beeping of machines is the only sound in the sterile room. Tubes and wires snake from my body, monitoring my fragile condition. My cat, ever vigilant, sits on the edge of the bed, its eyes glowing in the dim light. It senses the tension, the uncertainty that hangs heavy in the air.

Outside the Room

Class 1-A gathers, their faces etched with worry and grief. The door to my room is closed, a barrier between them and the broken shell of their friend. Bakugo: (Pacing, fists clenched) "This is bullshit! We need to see him!" Uraraka: (Tears streaming down her face) "Bakugo, please. The doctors said he needs rest. We can't do anything to help him if we push too hard." Todoroki: (Calm but tense) "We need to be patient. He's been through too much already." Iida: (Nodding) "We must trust the medical team. They know what they're doing."

The Nurse's Explanation

A nurse steps out of the room, her face drawn and tired. She looks at the assembled group, hesitating for a moment before speaking. Nurse: "I know you're all very concerned about Izuku, but I need you to understand the severity of his condition. He was shot ten times. The damage is extensive, and he's in critical condition." Bakugo: (Voice shaking with anger and fear) "Ten times? How the hell did he survive that?" Nurse: (Taking a deep breath) "He's incredibly resilient, but the extent of his injuries is overwhelming. Let me break it down for you." She pauses, gathering her thoughts, before continuing with a detailed explanation. Nurse: "Izuku sustained the following gunshot wounds:

Gunshot Wound #1: Entry wound in the upper left chest, bullet lodged near the heart. Immediate risk of cardiac tamponade. Extensive internal bleeding.Gunshot Wound #2: Entry wound in the lower abdomen, bullet exited through the back. Severe damage to the small intestine and partial damage to the large intestine. High risk of septicemia.Gunshot Wound #3: Entry wound in the right thigh, bullet lodged in the femur. Compound fracture with extensive muscle and tissue damage.Gunshot Wound #4: Entry wound in the left shoulder, bullet shattered the scapula. Severe nerve damage and potential loss of function in the left arm.Gunshot Wound #5: Entry wound in the upper right arm, bullet exited through the back of the shoulder. Damage to the bicep and tricep muscles.Gunshot Wound #6: Entry wound in the lower left leg, bullet lodged in the tibia. Fracture and extensive tissue damage.Gunshot Wound #7: Entry wound in the lower back, bullet lodged near the spine. Risk of paralysis.Gunshot Wound #8: Entry wound in the right side, bullet punctured the right lung. Severe pneumothorax.Gunshot Wound #9: Entry wound in the right side of the neck, bullet grazed the carotid artery. Extreme risk of major hemorrhage.Gunshot Wound #10: Entry wound in the left calf, bullet exited through the ankle. Severe muscle and tendon damage."

The class listens in stunned silence, the weight of the nurse's words sinking in. Nurse: "We've performed multiple surgeries to stabilize him. Here's what we did:

Cardiovascular Surgery: Emergency thoracotomy to access and repair the heart. Bullet fragments removed, damaged heart tissue repaired.Gastrointestinal Surgery: Resection of damaged intestinal sections, anastomosis performed to rejoin the healthy sections. Extensive cleaning and sterilization to prevent infection.Orthopedic Surgery: Internal fixation of the femur and tibia with titanium rods and screws. Muscle and tissue repair.Neurological Surgery: Removal of the bullet near the spine, but there's still a risk of paralysis.Thoracic Surgery: Repair of the punctured lung and treatment for pneumothorax.Vascular Surgery: Repair of the carotid artery and prevention of major hemorrhage.Reconstructive Surgery: Repair of the extensive muscle and tendon damage in his limbs."

Uraraka: (Voice trembling) "Is he going to survive?" The nurse looks down, her expression somber. Nurse: "I won't sugarcoat it. The probability of survival is low. He's lost a significant amount of blood, and the trauma to his body is severe. We're doing everything we can, but it's a miracle he's even still alive." Aizawa: (Gravely) "Thank you for your honesty. We'll be here, no matter what happens."

The Protector

The door creaks open slightly, and my cat hisses, its fur bristling. It jumps down from the bed, positioning itself in front of the door, a tiny guardian against the intruding world. Kirishima: (Softly) "Look, it's his cat. It's protecting him." Momo: (Wiping away tears) "It's been with him all this time. We should respect that." Aizawa: (Appearing behind the students, his voice soft but firm) "Leave him for now. The best thing we can do is give him space to heal."

The Coma

In the depths of my coma, my mind is a labyrinth of nightmares and memories. I relive the years of captivity, the tortures, the hunger. Faces of the people I've devoured haunt me, their screams echoing in my head. The darkness is suffocating, but somewhere in the distance, I hear a soft purring. It's the only thing that keeps me tethered to reality, a faint light in an ocean of despair.

The Heroes' Resolve

All Might: (Gathering the class) "Young Midoriya is fighting his own battles now. We need to be ready for when he wakes up. He'll need us more than ever." Bakugo: (Voice breaking) "Deku, you better come back. You owe us that much." Uraraka: (Nodding) "We'll be here for him. No matter what." Todoroki: (Determined) "We'll bring him back, piece by piece, if we have to."

The Cat's Vigil

My cat remains by my side, ever vigilant. It hisses at anyone who tries to enter, a fierce protector of the fragile life it has chosen to guard. The hospital staff learns to respect its presence, understanding that this small creature is as much a part of my recovery as the machines and medicines. As days turn into weeks, the class visits daily, speaking to me through the closed door, their voices filled with hope and determination. They share memories, stories, and their unwavering belief that I will return to them.

The Edge of Darkness

Inside my mind, the battle rages on. The hunger, the fear, the pain-they are my constant companions. But amidst the chaos, there is a spark of something else. The voices of my friends, the purring of my cat, the memories of a time before the darkness. They fight to pull me back, to remind me of who I once was. Will I emerge from the abyss, or will the darkness claim me forever? The answer lies in the strength of the bonds I share with those who refuse to give up on me.
