24 hours till I return home...

That was all that was on Percys mind. He sang his heart out, he laughed with his friends, and the crowd loved him, but there was no denying what was on his mind.

Hopefully Gabe hasnt gotten mad while Ive been gone...

He hated leaving his mother alone with Gabe. Every time his mother left the house, Gabe took everything out on Percy. Screaming at him, throwing beer bottles, taking Percys money. Gabe demanded all of Percy's earnings from his concerts. Percy always put half into a savings account, before giving Gabe the other half. One day, he and his mother would be free of this monster. Until then, Percy had to hope that his Step-dad wouldnt take out his anger on his mother while he was away.

"Percy, you good bro?", asked Jason. "You look like you're in another dimension right now". Percy quickly came back to the present. Jason was another member of the band, and one of Percy's closest friends. "Whats goin on man?" Percy knew he couldnt tell any of his friends the truth. How would they look at him then, if they knew he was a pathetic loser who got beat by his stepdad.

"If humans can see water, can fish see air?", Percy asked Jason, coming up with something on the spot. "It sounds stupid but the more you think about it the more sense it makes".

Jason groaned. "Really Percy, we were worried about you". Percy saw the gears in Jasons head turning.

Any second now... 3... 2... 1...

"Wait do they see air? What would it even look like for them?"

"I know right?!?", Percy laughed. He was lucky to have friends this great.

Only makes it more painful when they find out...

Shut up brain

Percy stood up, and walked back onto stage. The audience was screaming for an encore of their previous song. One by one everyone began to walk onto the stage. Percy got to the mic. Jason got to his bass guitar and got a mic as well. Frank got to the piano. No mic for him. Frank had the voice of an angel, but couldnt perform in front of crowds. Piano he managed to play just fine. Nico got the drums. He didnt want to join the band at first, but grudgingly agreed when they said all he had to do was hit stuff. Plus his boyfriend was joining. Will was on acoustic guitar, occasionally taking over for vocals.

From backstage, Leo and Grover waved them good luck. Leo and Grover helped do everything except come on stage. They were both the band's agents, financial managers, and managers in general. Grover never wanted to be part of the spotlight, while Leo they discovered was tone deaf. Nevertheless, they were both equally important as the rest of the band.

The crowd went wild as the band performed their final song once more time. When they finished, they crowd chanted the bands name. Heroes! Heroes! Heroes! There were wide smiles on everyones faces as they got back to their hotels. Everyone was laughing, planning out their senior years. Percy slowly began to go back to his world.

"We need to have to most epic senior prank ever", Leo said, everyone nodding in agreement.

Please let mom be okay...

Grover walked over to the rest and spoke up. "Guys we made about 40K today. Losing 5K to the venue for letting us host as well as the tour organizers, we have a round total of 35K, so around 5 thousand for each of us". Everyone cheered.

Another 2500 wasted on poker and alcohol...

"Lets get to bed guys, we have an early flight tomorrow", Jason said, being the mom of the group. Everyone groaned, but obliged. They were flying back from Australia, and rest was important. Percy went to sleep, one recurring thought on his mind.

Please let mom be okay...

This is the first part of the rewrite, lmk if you like it, or if you prefer the other one. Peace!
