Chapter 20

"Hello friends!" Percy exclaimed as he slid down next to Annabeth at the lunch table she and Grover were sat at.
Percy had taken his bag off from his shoulder and he opened it up.
"Hey Percy." Annabeth smiled at Percy.
"Hey dude." Grover said, greeting Percy.

"What were you guys talking about?" Percy asked as he grabbed a box of brownies out of his bag.
"Oh, discussing ways to mess with you." Annabeth said.
Percy frowned at Annabeth as he shut his bag and set it down onto the floor.
"Grover, is that true?" Percy questioned, looking to his best friend who was sat across from Annabeth.
"... Kinda." Grover smiled, shrugging a little.
Percy frowned at Grover.

"After me and my mom baked you brownies." Percy said, looking to Annabeth and handing her the box of brownies.
Annabeth took the box and she smiled at Percy.
"Thank you for the brownies. Tell your mom I appreciate it too." Annabeth said, opening the box.

Annabeth was about to take one out and take a bite but she saw Grover was staring at the brownies, as if he was drooling and needed one of the brownies before he died.
"... Grover, would you like one?" Annabeth asked, smiling at Grover.
"W-well-" Grover began.

"Give him one before he explodes." Percy leaned in and whispered in Annabeth's ear.
Annabeth let out a quiet giggle as she grabbed a brownie and handed it over to Grover. Grover snatched the brownie off of Annabeth and Annabeth's breath hitched.
"Oh, I was afraid he was going to bite my hand off." Annabeth said, picking up another brownie and handing it towards Percy.

"Oh, I couldn't-" Percy said, looking at Annabeth.
"Just take one, Percy. You know you can't resist your mom's baking." Annabeth smiled at Percy.
Percy sighed and he took the brownie from Annabeth, "You are completely right."
Annabeth grabbed a brownie for herself and she shut the box, filled with a few more brownies, leaving it on the table.

Grover had basically inhaled his brownie, Percy was taking huge bites out of his while Annabeth took decent bite sizes out of her own, enjoying Sally's sweet treat.

"Hey, Grover?"
Grover instantly looked over his shoulder. Percy and Annabeth stopped eating their brownies, glancing to see a girl in their year approaching Grover from behind.
"Mmhm?" Grover hummed, smiling at the girl.

It was Juniper. Grover recognised her as she was in his geography class and in his English classroom. Grover had a huge fat crush on her, and Percy knew about it.

"I was wondering if I could talk to you? In private? Like... now?" Juniper smiled at Grover, brushing her amber hair behind her ears with her hand.
"Well..." Grover looked over at Percy.
Percy nodded and winked at Grover. Grover smiled, his cheeks warming up as he faced Juniper.
"Yeah, sure!"

Grover got up from where he sat and grabbed his bag.
"I'll see you guys later!" Grover exclaimed, looking at Annabeth and Percy.
"Bye~" Annabeth grinned, wiggling her fingers as a wave to Grover.
"Bye-bye~" Percy also grinned at Grover.
Grover and Juniper both walked away, heading to a more private spot to talk.

Percy finished eating his brownie and he wiped his hand against his jeans as Annabeth soon finished her brownie too.
"Your mom is really good at baking." Annabeth said, looking at Percy.
"I need her to give me some sort of lessons, or even open up a bakery. She could make money off of this talent!"
"Oh, I can totally get her to teach you, even I could teach you! I have some of her talents and-" Percy began, looking at Annabeth.

Percy stopped as Annabeth brought her hand to Percy's face and she used her thumb to wipe away some brownie crumbs off from the corner of his lips. Percy's cheeks warm up and he swallowed as he kept his eyes on Annabeth. Annabeth smiled at Percy, taking her hand away.
"Sorry, you had something there." Annabeth said.

"I-it's fine." Percy said, still blushing. "But like I was saying, I could always teach you myself too, with how to bake the perfect blue cookies or these delicious brownies!"
Annabeth still smiled at Percy.
"Mmh, alright. We'll set that up one day then." Annabeth said.

"So, hey, now that we're alone, I was thinking this was a good time to ask if you'd like to come over to my place like this weekend or something?" Annabeth shrugged slightly at Percy.
Percy blinked but he smiled.
"Oh, I'd totally be down to come over to your place. I'd have to ask my mom about it later on, but she loves you, so it'll be a yes." Percy said.
Annabeth smiled at Percy, "Cool, well, message me later to confirm it then."
"I will do that!" Percy nodded.

"So, Juniper whisked Grover away. Do they like each other?"
"Oh, well I'm one hundred percent sure Grover likes Juniper. I mean, he has a huge crush on her. When they started talking in the classes they shared, he told me all about it. And I think Juniper whisked him away to confess to him!"
"Awh, that's cute. Now Grover can stop complaining about being a third wheel around us if he brings his lovely girlfriend around!"
