The mid-afternoon sun pierced through the haze of Manila's heat, casting long shadows across the city's skyline. Lila Santillan sat in her office, the tension in the room palpable as she and Quin Rivera reviewed the latest developments. Carmen Delacruz, their investigative ally, had promised additional information about Senator Javier Reyes and the corruption scandal. Quin tapped a message on his phone. "Carmen's running late. She said she had something important to discuss."

Lila glanced at the clock. "Let's hope it's the breakthrough we need."

"I've got something for you," Carmen said, pulling out a folder from her bag. "But first, you need to know something. I've been getting some threats."

Lila's eyebrows shot up. "Threats? From whom?"

Quin exchanged a worried glance with Lila. "If you're in danger, we need to get you to safety."

Lila's heart skipped a beat. "Are you saying someone on our side might be compromised?"

"That's a possibility," Carmen said. "I don't have concrete proof, but the timing of the threats and the leaks is too coincidental."

"Then let's focus on what we can prove," Quin interjected. "We need to verify the information in the folder and figure out how to protect ourselves from any potential leaks."

Lila nodded, her gaze steady. "Agreed. We'll analyze the documents and cross-reference them with our own findings. If there's someone leaking information, we'll find out who it is."
