Sometimes, when you gain something, you lose something, and that gain is compensation for that loss. Our life is that exact cycle of this gain-and-loss game controlled by our fate and destiny.

Every living being is restricted by this chain of fate. Living beings abide by the rule of fate and are bound to accept the bitterness of fate as well as the sweetness of fate. But you can believe in destiny while living with your fate.

With that, I must say, Ishika Roy got the most bitter part of fate. It poured all of its iniquity on little girl Ishika.

But she doesn't know what destiny is waiting for her. Then what is fate, or what is destiny?

On a blustery night, her mother met with an accident, leaving the happy family in a miserable state. After a year, they all shifted to Mumbai, as her father got a transfer from Kolkata.

Before, they all led a happy life. As the eldest daughter, Ishika has always been close to her parents, while Ishaan, the youngest, has always been their favorite—in a positive sense. Both gave their kids the same amount of love and care, but just for a few years.

The happy family was all shattered by a single night.

After coming to Mumbai, their father was forced to marry by his family and relatives. He then married a woman who brought bigger doom to their lives.

The woman was just an outsider to the children. She never welcomed them in a protective motherly manner but rather put them into a sheer darkness with a series of mental, emotional, and physical torments.

But all these couldn't put an end to her hardships. But it made it worse because her father got murdered by some anonymous group of people after almost 2 years. The police took their stepmother in charge on the basis of suspicion and pushed Ishika and Ishaan into an orphanage because they had no one left.

No one was ready to take the responsibility of their fostering. Not even their grandparents.

Later, the woman got bail due to a lack of evidence, and she again started her married life with another man.

It's been 17 years since the ruinous event happened, 17 years of memories being embedded in their wounded hearts.

All these years, Ishika and Ishaan were finally living their lives at peace, moving on with doleful pasts. But emotional disruption occurred again when Ishaan had to leave for his higher studies. Ishika was upset as her only brother left her, her only family.

She used to take care of him like a mother. He was her only weakness. All those years, she tried not to miss him every day. Ishaan used to call her twice a week. He used to do video calls and show her his new friends.

Ishika was scared—what if her brother never comes back? It's a nightmare for her. But she tossed all erroneous thoughts and fought her feelings.

Ishika and Ishaan couldn't forget the years they spent in the orphanage as they learned the meaning of what is called "family," the genuine meaning of home.

Now she is 24 and Ishaan is 22.

She has been living in a flat of 2bhk, where Ishaan soon will be joining. She has been giving rent almost regularly, but sometimes it's just tough. She is working hard every day to prove herself. She learned how to stand alone even in extreme difficulties. All of those experiences made her a woman who will not bend.

All these experiences had a negative impact on her like she never expects anything good to happen to her. But today, Ishaan is coming back, and this is something so good happening to her.

But in the early morning, she wakes up screaming. She was sweating as she sees an awful dream in the morning. She sits on her bed and checks messages, if any, from her brother. But nothing.

Maybe he wants to surprise her, Maybe because of his flight, yes. She thought.

She quickly calls her office, where she works as a graphic designer, about her leave. She had already sent an email yesterday. Another good thing that happened to her is her professional life. Her work life is going well.

But again, it is life. It has its own sweet and sour parts. Fate and destiny will show their fair share now and then.

Before going out, she calls her childhood friend, Nidhi Ahuja, whom she met in the orphanage, but she leaves soon after getting adopted. Since then, they used to talk via telephone, but after both became independent, they started hanging out together. She is someone whom she can rely on after her brother.

She tells Nidhi about his brother coming back today, and Neha's reactions are like, "Why didn't you inform me yet, girl?" Nidhi being Nidhi. She chuckles at her reactions.

Although she is a quiet person, she really opens up to a few close people. She goes out and takes a bus to the airport. She literally planned the whole day of how the brother and sister would spend their day after so many years.

On the bus, while she looking outside the window, she heard some chaotic sounds and noticed that the man who was sitting beside her was watching something on his phone. And just when she turned her head-
