I shut the door and turned around slowly, hoping that no one saw the embarrassing birthday party hat my co-workers had forced on my head. I worked at a local doctors office as a nursing assistant, and yes, today is my birthday. The thing is, I don't actually like celebrating it. I just don't get the big appeal in birthdays. So normally I don't really tell anyone, but it's kind of hard to hide your date of birth when your work has that sort of thing on file. Ashton was sitting on the couch watching a movie. I took the hat off and dropped it in the trash can. He looked over at me, no doubt startled by the noise.
"Hey Al's, I didn't hear you come in." Ashton said
"Sorry, it's kind of late, I didn't want to wake anyone." I said
He got up and walked over to me. He looked down at the hat in the trash can.
"Hold on a second. It's not...is it your birthday today?" He inquired. A smile twitching at the edge of his lips.
"Um....no it actually is not. I was just....I'm holding that for a friend actually." I stammered. He picked it up and placed it on my head. I scoffed and took it off.
"Well?" He said.
"Well what?" I questioned.
"Well what do you want for your birthday?" He asked. A huge smile spread across his cheeks.
"I don't want anything for my birthday. Also would you be a peach and not tell anyone else that it's my birthday? Thanks." I said as I patted his chest. I started to walk away but Ashton caught my arm and whirled me around to face him. His face was inches from mine.
"Allyson Sheppard. It is your birthday and you are going to let me give you a present." He whispered. I gasped as he pushed me against the wall. His body pressed into me and his fingers intertwined with mine. He pulled my arms above my head and leaned in to where his lips slightly touched mine. "Happy birthday Als." His words made me shiver. He kissed me with force making me moan slightly. I brought my hands down to his face, stroking his cheek and then tangling my fingers in his soft, curly hair.
I woke up with a jolt. Sweat pooled all over my body. Confused at where I was. I looked around the room in a panic. I was in my bed. In my room. In my apartment. It was just a dream Al's, no need to get all worked up. I thought. It meant nothing. Wait a second, did I just call myself Al's? There was a little note on my pillow. I picked it up and read the messy hand writing.Get dressed, go outside, there is a car waiting for you-
Xoxo- Hemmings
Ps. Happy Birthday darlingI smiled to myself and bit my lip. Maybe celebrating my birthday this year wouldn't be so bad.
