(8) Stay Away For Good

Author's pov

After Kabir came back from work he walked towards his mother room ignoring everyone sitting in the living room.

As I stood infront of her room, I remembered everything I said to her this morning. I know what I said was harsh, but I couldn't tolerate a word against Zara,
MY ZARA.

But that doesn't justify the way I spoke to my mom. I sighed as I knocked on the door and entered the room to find mom seated on her rocking chair while gazing outside the window.

I walked towards her and sat infront her on my knees as I took her palms in my hand.

"Mom, you won't even ask me if I had dinner?" I said hoping to get a reply. But she didnt speak a word nor did she move her gaze.

"Mom, I am sorry. I know the way I spoke to you , its wasnt right. But mom, from childhood till now, I have never denied anything you said, but mom, this time, I want you to please hear me out.

I love Zara mom, I do. So much that she has become my peace in this chaotic world, my only ray of light in the darkness I stay in, the only flower to my thorns. Mom, this time , for my happiness, accept Zara" I said with hopeful eyes.

Neve in my life I had to bend down infront of anyone to get what I want, but , love makes you do things you have never done.

Mom looked at me and said, "that girl , who knows you for what, 4 years, becomes so precious to you , that you raise your voice on your mom. You know that she loves you , but what about the love I have given you for 28 years of your life."

I looked at her as I sigh, "Mom, I know , that you worry, she may not be the one for me right? But mom, trust me , if Zara was behind me for money, she won't have stayed with me for 4 years, she wont hesitate to accept gifts from me. But mom , she does. Everytime I get her something expensive she hates the fact that I am spending money on her.

Mom, I see you in Zara. The confident and independent women who wont hesitate to raise voice against wrong but also the innocent women who keeps family first. Mom, trust me, she is everything you would love."

I tried to make her understand why I love Zara so much and I think it worked. She looked at me and said, "do you really love her?"

"Very much" I replied in a whisper voice. She stood up as she walked towards the bed, "okay". And her one word lightened my whole face. I walked towards her and kept my hands on her shoulder, "really?" I asked her just to confirm if what I heard was right.

"If you love her so much, then I will accept her , as your wife" she said making me smile. The million dollar smile.

I hugged her as I said, "I promise mom, even you will fall in love with her".

I could not believe this was going so right.

On the other hand , at the Mittl house.

Everyone was distressed and sad with all that happened today. None of their daughters came out from their rooms since the incident.

Mr Mittal sighed as he stared at his dinner infront of him. "I cant believe, the daughter I trsted to never so anything wrong actually went out for a boyfriend" he said.

"But I am not saying she did wrong. But the way we found out everything, it seems like wrong. Siya's husband is her own sister's and our Zara's boyfriend." He continued.

"Dont worry, if they are destined, then destiny will find it's way. It wasnt even entirely Zara's fault as Mrs.Sheetal misunderstood Zara and Siya. We cant blame our daughter." Said Mrs.Mittal.
