Chapter Two

It didn't work.

Gray struggled to drain the demon book's curse from Lucy's body. It was as if sometging was pushing his magic out before it could even go in. Like a barrier. Could it be why her arm looked like a huge mass of lava?

He continued to try, not giving up on someone he holds close to his heart (as a friend) but it wouldn't work no matter what he tried. Happy grew anxious, not wanting to lose Lucy.

"Gray..." Happy said quitely.

Gray was suddenly pushed back by an unknown force as Lucy sucked in air, as much as she could. It look like she was fighting something and she was but the heat was getting worse as she fell unconscious yet again.

Within her mind, she was fave to face with Natsu. No. This wasn't Natsu.

It was Natsu in the form of END. Mahogany horns curled around the side of his crispy looking, pink hair. His face, one half normal, the other covered in red dragon scales. Wings sprouted from his back. Now that she saw them, they reminded her of Igneel's wings.

She stared into the fave of her friend, not wanting to belive this different side to him.

A clawed hand grabbed her corrupted arm and awful memories flashed through her mind. The chain of inevitable events that led to one another.

Her birth, her mother's death, her father's mistreatment towards her, the 7 years they lost on Tenrou Island, her father's death, Michelle, Aquarius, losing Natsu and the Guild ... All leading up to now.

She tried to fight it, whatever this thing was in front of her wouldn't take advantage of her.

This wasn't Natsu. It's END. She had to get it through her head.

But she couldn't.

Bearing with the pain of the heat and the sorrows of the past...it was too much.

She flinched as the the demon, END, started to whisper in her ear from behind, "Be calm, let me relinquish your pain, let me help you become stronger-"

She cut him off before he could finish his bribes, "Shut up. I'd never give in to a monster like you. I don't want your stupid powers or sympathy."

He chuckled which sent shivers down her spine, "Sympathy? Trust me dear I'm not giving you sympathy. I'm giving you options."

"O-options?" Lucy asked, confused.

"Exactly, your human body can't stand this heat correct? It will burn you from the inside out I'm honestly surprised you've survived till now. That just means you must be special to him," he said with a sinister smile.

"By him you mean..."

"Natsu, correct. You'd like to see him, am I right?"

She was still confused but nodded.

"Then give in."

"And of I don't?" she questioned.

"You and him will be as good as dead, my dear. You may have rewritten a page in that book but that won't do anything. Zeref is perishing as we speak the only hope for poor Natsu is you, Lucy Heartfilia."

He paused before explaining more, " You see, when Zeref dies, so will his creations, the books he's created, Natsu's book, my book. You can prevent that. You can save him if you just give in."

"This will save him?" Lucy asked quietly.

END smiled and pulled a strand of her hair, holding it in his hands, "Would I lie to you, my dear?"

"You're a demon."

"Indeed. Well, what do you say, do we have an agreement?" He held his hand out with a sly smirk on his face, his blood red eyes with cat like pupils stared into her big brown ones.

"Yes.."

She said quitely, shaking his outstretched hand...
