She's mine! (END x Lucy)

Chapter One

The red words of the demon language emerged from the book but just as quickly as they appeared they began to vanish. In a panic, Gray turned to Lucy as she was already rewriting the words that had just disappeared.

Meanwhile, at the guild hall, Zeref now possessed the power of the Fairy Heart, Mavis lying on the floor, passed out. But Natsu lay in a pool of his own blood. Dead. Killed by Zeref, his own brother.

Back in the park, Lucy had finished writing all the missing words but her heart was thumping in her chest as lava like vines traveled from her hand to the side of her face. She dropped the pen and hugged herself tightly, trying to get her body to cool down but it wouldn't listen. It was like she could feel her insides burning with a demonic flame.

Knowing she had to fight it, she picked up the pen once more and began writing again. Gray - with his ice make magic - held his hand out to the burning side of Lucy's body and used his magic power to help her.

Just as Zeref was about to step through the guild hall doors - now a portal that would lead him to the past - he sensed the fire of Natsu as he burned, the whole in his chest glowing white until it died down and the wound that used to be there, wasn't.

Realization struck Zeref as he realised someone had taken the book of END.

Mavis.

"Thanks... Lucy.." Natsu muttered under his breath.

Zeref stared at him and claimed, "Whoever tries to rewrite that book will suffer the curse of the demons. That is the kind of power it possesses. Your friend will not live to see tomorrow."

"Then I'll just have to end you before that happens!"

Her body ached and begged her to stop but she couldn't. She wouldn't. She would do this for Natsu so he wouldn't have to die if Zeref were to be killed during the battle.

No. She had this all wrong. This was never a battle. It was a war. It always had been.

Clenching her fists tightly, she urged herself to continue as Gray sat silently, helping her the best he could. Happy was also silent but shivering from the ice given off from Gray.

She just hoped he was okay.

Natsu.

It has been a few minutes and she had done the best she could. She had written all the memories they had shared together. These memories showed he wasn't a demon nor a dragon either. Natsu is human, and no book will convince her - or anyone else in the guild - otherwise.

Closing the book, she was just now realising how far the demon curse had spread up her arm. It just looked like a giant mass of lava but the strange thing was she was still able to feel and control her arm as she pleased.

Suddenly feeling dizzy, her eyes grew heavy as she collapsed but Gray managed to catch her. This time, he fully activated his demon slaying magic, the black mass spreading from his chest up to his face and down his left arm.

Cradling Lucy like a child, he gently lifted her corrupted arm and tried to drain the curse from her body...

It didn't work.
