"Got any report?"

I didn't even waste a second to do cheesy formal greetings when Iguro entered the office. I didn't need to, because he understood me and I understood him perfectly in sync.

Taking my question with stride, he pointed towards a vacant chair, his head bowed low to some files on his desk, which was messy with takeout boxes and empty cups.

I raised a brow over his unusual messiness but didn't say anything, following the motion of his hand and planting myself down infront of him.

He jotted down something with a pencil on a random paper with a grim expression before looking up at me, his tired eyes meeting mine.

"I did find out something interesting." He said. There was a flicker of amusement in his eyes, which tugged a small smile on my lips.

Iguro's paper-like hands moved towards a drawer under his desk, his eyes scanning for something certain there. After a moment of jostling through the papers, he finally retrieved a small paper.

"Though you might need to see this before I give you additional information." He slid the paper on the desk with evenly placed fingers.

Taking the paper from his hand, I flipped it over and started reading the contents.

It wasn't just any paper. It was a contract, with the signature of my father and another man.

A hot flame of annoyance spread through my chest just at the ink forming my fathers name on the contract.

Was my father the one who signed a contract? No, I read further. It was my father who made the contract. The other man was the one who signed it. I peered over to the additional name.

As soon as I saw what the mans name was, my eyes widened with disbelief, scanning over the name again to make sure I wasn't reading it wrong.

Tomioka Kenji.

"What the hell?" My voice came out loud and surprised. "Is this fucker-"

"Tomioka's father." Iguro nodded, erasing any former doubts and replacing them with new ones.

I scrunched up my nose in response, words seemingly drying up at my throat in the hot of confusion.

I read even further, darting over the contents of the contract. It wasn't until I saw a familiar title that made my blood turn to ice.

Marriage to repay debt - an agreement and pension from Tomioka Kenji.

All the doubts seemed to disappear like smoke in a fire and the ice in my blood suddenly rushed away, rage taking its place right away.

I could feel the luxury of fury rise and reign in my mind, sparkling like firecrackers and moments away from bursting. My whole body tensed and my hands felt clammy. I could feel a vein throb at my forehead, contracting and relaxing.

That fucking coward.

I wanted to scream. I wanted to wipe Iguro's smug amusement off his half-bandaged face and burn this whole office down. I wanted to murder my father in broad daylight.

Instead I forced myself to let out an exhale which was shaky from the fury swirling around my mind. Even with the air conditioning on full blast, my whole being felt hot with newfound rage.

"If your thinking of commiting arson, do it after I finish my shift."

Iguro made a point to keep his face carefully blank after I glared at his not-so-well-hidden smugness, which made me respond with a click of my tongue.
