(Y/N) Darby smiled as K.O. Burger came into sight. Since her boss was considerate enough to give her a few days off from being a project manager, she thought of checking in on her brother, Jack Darby, who happened to work in the said fast-food restaurant.

Upon reaching her destination, she decided it might be easier to talk to the raven-haired teenager if she used the drive-thru, so she did just that. When she arrived at the drive-thru, (Y/N) saw a gray car driving away with a paper bag, presumably their order.

"Hey!" Jack shouted, raising his balled-up fist in the air angrily. "Have to pay for that." He sighed in defeat.

(Y/N)'s smile flattened ever so slightly, seeing Vince and his friends continuing to torment her brother. It was disheartening to see her brother mistreated like that, but she knew that he was mature enough to deal with these kinds of situations on his own. And if he isn't already, it would help him become a much more independent teenager.

Seeing the opportunity, the young adult pulled up next to the window and went to greet Jack. "Let me guess: Vince?" She questioned with a smirk plastered on her face.

The raven-haired teenager rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I would even be surprised if I still get to work here tomorrow." He joked. But (Y/N) knew part of him wasn't kidding. Even so, she still chuckled, which slightly lightened up the mood.

"By the way, my boss gave me a few days off from work. What do you think we should do on those few days? How do you think we should spend it with mom?" She said. "I feel like we should have dinner as a family tomorrow night. It's been so long since we've eaten together."

Jack leaned on the window frame in thought. "That sounds like a good idea. We should have a movie together too. I bet mom would love that." He suggested, smiling to himself. "Why don't we talk about this outside? I'm done with my shift anyway. I was just about to fix my stuff."

"Alright then." (Y/N) replied, slowly driving to the parking lot. After she parked her car, she stepped out and leaned against her vehicle, waiting for her brother.

As Jack finished packing and exited the fast-food restaurant a few minutes later, he got a call from his mom. He quickly picked up and waited until the lines were able to connect. "Hey, Mom, I just got off... No, I'm not going to the dance. Experience suggests I should never cut a rug unless I'm stowing carpet." He spoke through the phone, stealing glances with his sister.

"By the way, (Y/N) visited me at work today. She wanted to know if we could spend family time together tomorrow." He continued. There was a long pause after. "You can't? More patients than usual? I'm sure she'll understand, don't worry." He stopped pacing and stared at (Y/N) with a sympathetic look. She looked down and shook her head, feeling broken-hearted, as if she had already expected that would be her mom's response.

"Anyway, I'm just about to leave. 'Be careful'? Seriously? This is Jasper..." Jack suddenly trailed off, his eyes landing on a blue motorbike. "I love you..." He said, clearly referring to the bike. (Y/N) raised a brow, puzzled by the change in her brother's behavior. "I love you too, Mom. I gotta run." He quickly said before abruptly ending the call.

"What are you doing?" (Y/N) asked, fishy with whatever was going on with Jack. Despite her already raised voice, the raven-haired teenager completely ignored her, too mesmerized by how cool the motorbike looked.

"Hello, Beautiful." He said, walking up to it. "Where have you been all my life?" He traced the seat in awe and smiled to himself. He then sat on it and held the hand grip tight, not caring whether or not he was about to get caught by the owner. "It may take a few K.O. paychecks, but I'm gonna own a ride like you someday."

Before (Y/N) could say anything, Sierra, a ginger-haired teenager, and one of her friends approached the siblings. "Are you talking to your motorcycle?" They laughed. "Also, is this your girlfriend?" She questioned suddenly, slightly impressed. (Y/N) gagged.
