(Y/N) woke up to the sound of her annoying alarm clock ringing on the desk beside her bed. She sighed as she reached her arm out and turned off her alarm. After she sat up, the occasions from the previous day suddenly hit her like a brick. She blushed as she recalled her interaction with Optimus, the Autobot leader himself. She repeatedly hit her head, trying to shake the thought off.

"Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!" (Y/N) told herself, groaning and covering her face with one of her pillows. "What am I doing just standing here? Optimus is going to pick me up any minute now." She said, swinging her legs off her bed and dashing towards the bathroom.

(Y/N) quickly splashed her face in the sink with cold water, waking her up. She then brushed her teeth and took a shower before running to her closet in her towel to find some clothes to wear. After, she quickly dressed and fixed her hair before preparing her bag.

When (Y/N) finished fixing her bag, she slung it on her shoulder and put on her shoes. Just as soon as she finished, she heard the low hum of an engine just outside her house. Figuring that it was Optimus, she quickly fixed herself and took a deep breath before stepping outside.

Once she exited her house, she beamed upon seeing the Prime on the driveway. She rushed to him excitedly before opening the door and entering.

"Good morning, Optimus." (Y/N) greeted, putting on her seatbelt.

"Good morning, (Y/N)." The Prime replied. "Were you able to recharge well last night?"

"You mean 'sleep'? Well, of course." The young adult said to the bot as he revved his engine and drove to the Autobot base. The Prime hummed in response, satisfied with her answer.

It was silent for a few moments until (Y/N) spoke. "So, yesterday, you mentioned that your close friend, Megatron, betrayed you and joined the Decepticons, right?"

"Yes, but he was more than just a close friend. Before his betrayal and I became a Prime, we were like brothers. We were inseparable." Optimus spoke solemnly.

(Y/N) paused. "Wait, wait, wait..." She said, waving her hands in the air. "You weren't always a Prime? I thought you would be born as one."

"No. In the universe we live in, nothing is free. Like the title of being Prime, things like this must be earned." The Prime said. The young adult thought hard.

"So, who were you before you became Prime?" She questioned.

"Before our creator, Primus, bestowed the Matrix of Leadership upon me, I was once Orion Pax, a normal cybertronian, living a normal life. During that time, I worked as a clerk in the Iacon Hall of Records, where I learned about the history of our planet and its people." Optimus said.

(Y/N) nodded, registering what the Autobot leader had just said. "Do you regret ever being granted the Matrix?" She asked. Optimus went silent for a few moments before replying.

"No, because if I hadn't become a Prime, then I wouldn't have been able to lead the Autobots in battle, and I wouldn't have become who I am today. And the challenges and difficulties I have encountered as a Prime helped me learn new things as a leader and a friend." He said.

(Y/N) sighed and smiled to herself, looking out the window dreamily. He was right. The Autobots wouldn't have come this far if it weren't for him. And even if they did, the Prime would never be the same. However, the young adult still felt that even if he had a different personality now, she would fall for him regardless.

Soon, as the two neared the base, the hangar door opened, and they entered, passing through the dimly lit tunnel. Optimus then stopped near the human platform, allowing (Y/N) to hop out and run up the stairs to check on Ratchet. After giving her thanks to the Prime, he nodded and walked to his workroom.
