Lyr Dokyeom-Ivanov (Korean: 민도겸; Russian: лир докём-иванов; born February 23rd, 1998), professionally known as Lyr (commonly stylized in all caps) is a South Korean-Russian singer, rapper, songwriter, producer and model managed by After Party Entertainment. Lyr released his debut single, Black Eye, on August 8th, 2019, and has continued to produce and record his own music since his debut date. Aside from his own discography, he's written and produced many songs for popular artists such as Laufey, Pinkpantheress, ITZY, Charli XCX, TWICE, The Weeknd, Studio Killers, Ariana Grande, and many others.
He has been writing and producing music for himself solo ever since 2016, and rose to fame after he officially released his debut single titled Black Eye, peaking at number 7 on the US Billboard 200 Chart. The song went viral in the first two weeks of being released, and Ivanov peaked again at number two with the release of his second single After Dark just two months later. After rising to fame and being asked to release more music, Ivanov released his first mini album titled Lost In The Fire (2019). The title track of the aformentioned album, Try Again, reached number 1 on Gaon Digital Chart, and remained there for six consecutive weeks.
The artist continued to release albums and singles after winning the category of Rapper Of The Year and Best International Act during the BET Awards, with his self-produced albums mine and mine only (2021), ELEPHANT! (2021), SPUTNIIK (2020), oncle jazz (2023), and post rave maximalist (2024) receiving commercial success to this day.
Among his accolades, Ivanov has won 10 American Music Awards, 7 Billboard Music Awards, 5 BET Awards, and has recieved 5 Grammy Award nominations. In 2023, Time named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world on their annual list.
