[Chapter 2] SCHALE

Sensei, Yuuka, Hasumi, Chinatsu and Suzumi have almost reached the club room of the Schale. Their exact location is now on the outskirts of DU. However, they are unable to go any further than that. A group of thugs with miniguns, submachine guns, and snipers are blocking their way and had already started shooting at Sensei and the girls.

"Why do we have to be the ones to fight them?!" Yuuka shouted as five of them took cover from the gunfire.

"Calm down Yuuka, Rin said defending the club room is paramount if they're to regain control of Sanctum Tower" Chinatsu said while preparing medical supplies in her bag in case they are hit.

"I get that, but i belong to my school's student council! Why is busywork like this falling to me??" Yuuka said, still yelling with an annoyed look on her face.

Sure enough, one of the thug's bullets hit Yuuka in her almost destroyed cover. Instead of visible blood on her body, there is only a bruise.

"GAH! WHAT THE HECK?!" Yuuka hiss, noticing the bullets the thugs are using while trying to get to another cover. "Are they using JHP rounds? That's cheating!"

"Go to Chinatsu first Yuuka." Hasumi said as she started shooting at the thugs from her cover as well. "Besides, hollow-points aren't considered illegal."

"Well, they're illegal at our academy starting right now! That might have left a mark!" Yuuka said, already at Chinatsu side, treating her bruises.

"We need to remember that Sensei is here with us." Hasumi said, still busy shooting at random thugs. "His safety is our top priority. Reclaiming that building will come second."

"Hasumi is right. Sensei isn't from Kivotos." Chinatsu agreed with a nod. "Unlike us, a single bullet could put Sensei in grave danger. Don't forget that!."

That's right, anyone who has a halo above their head will gain significant physical strength, which basically makes them bulletproof and can even survive tank shells. Sensei didn't have a halo.

"I know that!" Yuuka looking at Sensei, who's taking cover at the back. "You can't join us on the battlefield, Sensei, so stay put while we take care of this!"

Sensei takes a look at the surroundings first. There is a group of thugs on their way, but not too many. And it seems that the thugs are not too dangerous either. Surely the girls will be able to take them down. Sensei didn't want to reveal himself yet, unless the situation got really dangerous.

Sensei looked back at the girls and nodded. "Go on"

With Sensei approval, the girls began their advance. Yuuka took the lead, activating her barrier that surrounding her entire body, and then smashing through the front line to create an opening with her two submachine guns, forcing the thugs to take cover. Suzumi followed closely behind Yuuka, quickly firing her assault rifle at the thugs on the sides. Her movement is unpredictable, making it difficult for the thugs to aim at her. Hasumi also follows, but stayed relatively behind, providing cover fire with her sniper rifle. Her long range shot is really powerful and always on target, instantly knocking out thugs who are far away. Chinatsu also stays relatively behind to provide medical support. Sometimes she also shoots with her pistol at the thugs who try to get into the backline.

At the very far back, Sensei watching his four student taking combat, analyzing their ability as well as the thugs. First, as expected, the thugs are not that dangerous. they just fully relied on sheered firepower on the girls until someone get hit without any real strategy whatsoever. What they only knew is throwing bomb and take cover. Sure some of them is trying to flank, but that's it.

The girls using their ability for their advantage. However, their ability is also what let them to a bad coordination, almost as they are acting like an individuals rather than a team. Yuuka barrier is strong for sure, but she's only care to charge forward, leaving her side and back vulnerable. It's a good thing that Suzumi is behind her. She's good at close quarter combat, but that often led her away from Yuuka, exposing Yuuka vulnerabilities once more. Hasumi precision with her sniper rifle is really accurate, although she only focusing on long range that she neglected the thugs that are closing in to her teammate. Chinatsu on the other hand is a supporter. She quick to react any casualties of her teammate has and immediately provide healing to them with her syringe. But she sometimes hesitate when giving them strategy head on. Is she overthinking it?
