As the day progressed, Wally found himself increasingly uncomfortable in his new surroundings. The crib, changing table, and baby toys made his room feel alien and humiliating. His parents were treating him with a mix of sternness and care, ensuring he followed the rules of his punishment without leniency.

It wasn't until later in the afternoon, as Wally sat in the high chair eating yet another jar of baby food, that he remembered a crucial detail—his older brother, Eric, was returning home from college that evening. The thought of Eric seeing him in a diaper, sitting in a high chair, and surrounded by baby items filled Wally with dread.

Panic gripped him. Eric was someone he looked up to and respected. The idea of Eric seeing him like this, reduced to a babyish state, was unbearable. He had to do something.

After his mother finished feeding him, Wally nervously approached her, trying to find the right words. "Mom, can we please stop this punishment now?" he pleaded, his voice tinged with desperation. "Eric is coming home tonight, and I don't want him to see me like this."

His mother looked at him with a mixture of sympathy and resolve. "Wally, this punishment isn't just about you. It's about understanding the consequences of your actions and how they affect others," she explained gently. "I know it's difficult, but we believe it's important for you to learn this lesson."

Wally's eyes filled with tears, his fear and embarrassment overwhelming him. "Please, Mom," he begged, "I can't let Eric see me like this. It's too embarrassing. He'll never let me live it down."

His mother sighed, clearly feeling for her son but remaining firm. "Wally, I understand that you're embarrassed, but this is a consequence of your actions. We want you to understand how it feels to be vulnerable and dependent on others. Eric seeing you like this might actually help you understand the impact of your behavior more deeply."

Wally shook his head, unable to accept her reasoning. "But Mom, Eric will tell everyone! I don't want anyone to know about this," he said, his voice cracking with panic.

Seeing his distress, his mother knelt down to look him in the eye. "Wally, this isn't about what Eric or anyone else thinks. This is about you learning to be a kinder, more empathetic person. We're doing this because we love you and want you to grow from this experience."

Wally bit his lip, his tears now streaming down his face. He felt trapped and utterly humiliated. The thought of his brother walking in and seeing him in a diaper, surrounded by baby toys, was more than he could bear.

His mother stood up, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "I promise you, Wally, this will all make sense in the end. For now, try to focus on the lesson we're trying to teach you."

Feeling defeated, Wally nodded, though he couldn't shake the anxiety gnawing at him. His mother continued her day, preparing dinner and tidying up, while Wally was left to reflect on his situation. He couldn't stop thinking about what would happen when Eric walked through the door.

As the evening approached, Wally's nerves grew more frayed. He stayed mostly in his room, trying to avoid any confrontation or conversation. The hours ticked by slowly, each one bringing him closer to the moment he dreaded most.

Finally, the sound of a car pulling into the driveway reached Wally's ears. His heart raced as he heard the familiar sound of Eric's voice greeting their parents. He knew there was no escape, no hiding from the inevitable.

Wally stayed in his room, hoping against hope that his parents would have a change of heart, but deep down, he knew they were committed to this punishment. The door creaked open, and he braced himself for the moment he had been dreading all day.
