It's been days.
Zephyrus and his men went from kingdom to kingdom searching for the people the kingdoms were crying of. With Kalus, he felt like he was a useless King. Kalus brought out the weakness in him. The weakness he didn’t want Ona and his kingdom people to see him wearing it.
He could’ve easily teleported back to the kingdom, but he wanted to teleport back with Kalus and Gideon in his grip and give everyone closure, especially his mate. He felt tired but he didn’t want to back away and disappoint Ona or let Kalus win from hiding himself good.
“I think we have tried King, these two thieves are no way to be found,” Vyn said resting his palms on his knees and breathing so heavily and sweating.
“No,” Zephyrus growled and flared his nostrils showing how grimaced he was.
The king sent strong knots inside Vyn’s stomach. He didn’t mean to make the King angry.
“We will rest here, and make a shelter with logs and leaves,” Zyphyr said. “Don’t worry about that, me and Zephyrus we will make one.”
The sun was setting when Zephyrus and Zyphyr were tying the logs together with the stem hard skins and tying everything with huge leaves and making enough shelter for all of them to have a space to sleep.
Food was finished. Zarek’s stomach rumbled.
Zephyrus took off his shirt and boots shoes then shifted into his Drafulf form - Zyphyr followed to look for wild animals to fry and eat.
Their Drafulf's forms were still shocking Zarek who was still left in shock while the two beasts were running away from them.
“Do you feel scared?” Lyrien asked Vyn while under the shelter.
Zephyrus brought along the glowing stones so the men won’t be left under the darkness.
“I was even scared to say I’m scared,” Vyn chuckled at his words.
“This forest is too quiet for me,” Lyrien responded. “How did you manage to be on the run for a month in this kind of lonely forests?”
“When you’re on the run, you fear nothing, even though nothing was chasing me….. I just didn’t fear anything but now that the two brothers are away of us, I feel like something is going to appear and open this door,” Zarek was not scared at all, he was just entertained by the two gentlemen who were already trembling.
“We’ve never been in this kind of situation before,” Vyn said swooping himself to Zarek’s body as Zarek was between them facing the door.
“I think it’s opening….” Zarek trembled his body to evidence fear to Vyn and Lyrien to make them scared even worse.
Then he burst into laughter when he couldn’t contain himself anymore.
Zephyrus and Zyphyr were miles away from the shelter, they didn’t mean to be that far. They’ve been walking, searching, and sniffing to catch any scent of edible animals but there were none. The forest had no animals, it was quieter than a forest should be.
At least cicadas should be there to make noises as birds were in their nests and resting and wild animals to howl, growl, snarl, hisses, and sneer from other animals.
“What about fishes? We should look for a river,” Zyphyr suggested.
And yes, he came up with a good suggestion. Fishes would do.
Zephyrus made a whistle out of wood for the men to blow if anything dangerous happened to call for them for rescue. He tested the whistle on each of them and found that it was loud enough to be heard by far so at the moment, he was not worrying about them but worrying about not finding food.
