I slept like an absolute baby on the train ride to Italy. That saying is weird because babies are notorious for not sleeping.
The train was fairly sleek for a circus train considering my old one only had a rickety one. This one was sleeker, more modernised. I was told by Hyunjin the Bang family was not short of money at all. The logo of the circus adorned the train sides to advertise it.
I woke up to a bustling noise outside to see the tents mostly set up. I immediately felt guilty washing over me, wishing I could've helped. I checked my watch to see the clock nearing to twelve. I really did oversleep.
I hate oversleeping since it feels like a waste of a day but nevertheless, it's happened so what can I do about it.
"Morning or well nearly afternoon, Jisung." A figure leaned against the doorframe. I could recognise them as Max through sleepy eyes. His dyed dirty blonde hair flew in the slight draft as his lips stayed permanently in a smug smile.
"Morning Max."
"Chan asked me to tell you that you can practice in the trapeze tent if you want."
"Oh thanks Max." I turned my back towards him as I began to gather up my kit, thinking he would leave.
"Sorry about what happened last night in the restaurant."
"The owner is always a bitch-"
"Not the owner well I am sorry about that but Minho, I was talking about."
"Oh no it's fine-"
"It's not. He's always been an asshole."
"I don't-" As much as I wanted to agree and rant how rude and cold he'd been towards me, the idea of disagreeing overpowered that. After all, I was an outsider and it does take people some time to warm up. Something deep down in my gut told me not to participate in this kind of shit talking Max was trying to instigate.
"He just thinks he's better than everyone else so he can treat everyone shitty and get away with it. You should stick with me. I'm much better than him. We could easily do an act together."
"Uhm I don't know.." I was quite uncomfortable in this situation. I didn't really want to get on anyone's bad side.
"You won't have to put up with Minho's snobbishness if we just pair up. God it could save you from having to handle all that! I'm not gonna lie I saw you when Chan was seeing if you were capable. You are literally a hundred times better than Minho!"
"I wouldn't say that. I haven't developed a proper opinion on him but that feels out of pocket." I certainly had a newfound opinion on Max which was most definitely not in his favour.
"I didn't know you resorted to shit talking about me to the newbie, Max. Never thought you'd stoop that low." Max seemed caught off guard but desperately tried to play it off.
"Minho. Eavesdropping?"
"No. I just wanted to see what was taking you so bloody long. Wooyoung wanted to go over the routine with you."
"I'll join him in a second. Jisung you really should consider my offer."
"He won't." Minho replied godly as Max left, giving Minho death stares. The boy seemed completely unaffected by it.
"Uh you didn't need to do that."
"He's an asshole. Steer clear of him, he's the one who's arrogant."
"Woah woah. Who gave you the permission to shit talk to me? Just cause you sauntered in here at the time and helped me out a little bit doesn't mean you start doing the same thing?" He looked taken back but in fair, he'd been fairly rude towards me. No get out of jail free cards for you, Minho.
"I didn't mean it like that."
"Sure you didn't but I'd appreciate you a little more if you stopped being so cold."
He didn't even say another thing and only scoffed. He scoffed in utter disbelief as if I dare go against him. He walked off leaving me in the compartment of the train.
I no longer felt in the mood to practice.
