Chapter XXXV: Naytra Ven Tru

The night is as dark as my own feelings. I have no idea how I should feel here. On one hand, it isn't necessarily a bad thing that Sunset invited Princess Twilight. On the other hand, it is extremely awkward for me... The last time I saw this princess was the Battle of the Bands. That was years ago and it is safe to say that a lot has changed since then. A lot more than even Twilight could guess. How exactly should I open a conversation like this? 'Hi, I'm banging your pony friend'? Obviously not... The hardest part is that Sunset probably told Twilight all about us, but I have heard nothing of Twilight's recent life events.

"So... It's still weird for me to walk on two legs after all this time," Princess Twilight jokes with us as we walk through the city. The night air is quiet and cool, inviting a conversation of some sort.

"You get used to it," Sunset and I say at the same time. My summer breeze looks at me with a smile, seemingly surprised that we had the same thought. To me, it is barely a surprise after all the time we've spent together.

"After my time in this world, I think it would be hard for me to get used to my old body," I state with a shrug, stifling a small laugh. At this point, it is difficult to remember how that body felt. How it was to be so big... In a world full of magic. It's been a long time since I've thought about Equestria specifically. "Regardless, it is nice of you to make it for our big day. I imagine scheduling something like this across worlds is not easy," I tease Twilight and Sunset with a laugh.

"Well, it wasn't ideal, but I wouldn't miss a day like this. I'm glad that Sunset found someone that means the world to her." Twilight's tone is full of pride and respect, a small nod reaffirming her view.

"I know. I'm great. It's hard to be so amazing compared to the other people she could have chosen," I joke with them again, winking at Sunset specifically. Twilight laughs along with me. However, she seems more happy than actually finding the joke humorous.

"There's that ego I remember. You're nicer than before though. Sunset told me you had changed, but I was a little... skeptical," Twilight admits with a sheepish expression, holding her hands up as if asking for forgiveness. Stopping in the middle of the sidewalk, Twilight presents her hand to me with a smile. "However, all I remember of you was a villain, so maybe it would be fair to start fresh after all. What do you say?"

I can't help but raise my eyebrow. As much as some people wish, you can't just erase the past. However, the gesture seems pure enough here. Hearing her say she was skeptical to meet me again made me feel a little angry, but I guess I can't blame her. Back then, I was an evil, egotistical siren with a fondness for fashion, control and luxury. I've changed a lot.

Okay, maybe not a lot... I'm just good now. Sunset says I'm good by her standards at least. Everything else? Eh, maybe I didn't change in all aspects.

"You surprise me, Princess of Friendship," I say with a quiet chuckle, taking her hand in my own. "My name is Adagio Dazzle. It's nice to meet you. Properly this time." Twilight smiles at my introduction, nodding with a small bow to me.

"I am Princess Twilight Sparkle. I hope we can make many good memories~" Even though the words are not said, we can both tell from the gaze we share that this is meant to mark a new beginning. In a way, no apologies or explanations are needed. There's just a silent agreement that everything before is forgotten. Forgiven. Sure, mistakes have happened along the way, but that shouldn't stop two people from starting anew. Let's face it. Neither of us are much like we were a few years ago.

"Can I take a picture?" Sunset asks us with a big smile on her face. I can tell she's really happy to see the two of us getting along. To be fair to her, I did hate Twilight a few years ago. Almost as much as Sunny. But it's time to let go of hate by now. I'm getting married tomorrow after all. Maybe I should even forgive that stupid Starswirl.
