A/N - not really important, but I wanted to let you guys know that most of the book will be from Liam's POV (if you haven't alr figured out lol), but i'm planning on writing more chapters in Blake's POV later in the book!
Liam's POV:
As Liam expected, Sunday and Monday went by way too quickly.
To Liam's surprise, Claire not once mentioned the whole... situation. In fact, he was beginning to think that his best friend didn't even see anything. They didn't make any suggestive comments or anything of the sort. If anything, it would be Liam that would make shit awkward, but he thanked whatever god out there that he wasn't acting suspicious enough to clue Claire in on his dilemma.
In general, the thought of having to see Blake made Liam's stomach turn, but now that feeling only intensified. Not only did his stomach betray him, but his chest felt a little heavier than before knowing that he got a fucking hard-on from said perpetrator.
Sure, it wasn't like he got off on it or anything, but that didn't seem to make a difference when it came to how Liam was feeling. It was almost as if he felt like everyone around him would figure out what happened just by looking at him. That day in school, whenever someone looked at him for more than a second, Liam's heart rate picked up.
Rationally, he knew there was no way anyone could know, but he felt almost as guilty as when he spoiled his sister's surprise birthday gift back when they were twelve.
All that being said, it was safe to assume that Liam was dreading having to see the curly-haired boy.
However, Liam was holding out hope that their practice for that afternoon would be cancelled since, just like the previous day, the sky seemed to match Liam's mood: fucking awful. The rain would come and go, and it wasn't necessarily heavy precipitation. If anything, nature needed the rare shower after California's sunshine caused the grass to turn different shades of yellow.
Although Liam knew jack-shit about sports, he was certain that they wouldn't play in this weather, right?
----
Liam was incredibly wrong.
Apparently, in soccer, they play rain or shine with thunder or extreme weather being the primary exceptions. Liam thought it was bullshit, but maybe he was just biased.
The brunette began his walk of shame towards the field, camera bag in one hand and umbrella in the other. Most photographer's main concern in this situation would be the damage that their camera could endure due to the rain, but Liam could care less. Well, not meaning that he didn't care about his camera, but he had done shoots countless times in poor conditions, so he was confident in his ability to keep his camera safe.
Liam simply could have pleaded with Mack about how shooting in this weather wasn't ideal, and he probably could have gotten out of it. Plus, it would have made shit easier for him, too. But, in all honesty, rain was his favorite weather condition to capture. It created a mood in his photos that Liam couldn't express with words, even if he tried.
Considering that this would also add variety to the soon-to-be many pictures of practically the same thing, it would be beneficial to take this opportunity. Not to mention, Woodford didn't get rain too often, so he was almost looking forward to it. Keyword = almost.
Right as Liam finished setting his camera up on the sidelines, opposite to where the players were running drills, a crack of thunder sounded in the distance.
