I'm sat in the family zone in the stands, waiting for the match to start as I scroll through my phone. I feel a tap on my shoulder and see Judes mom, Denise, standing there.
"Hi!" She says with a huge smile.
"Oh my god, Hi." i smile as I quickly stand up and wrap my arms around her neck.
"How are you, my beautiful girl?" She asks as she takes a seat next to me.
"I'm great, how are you?" I ask.
"Amazing, how are things with you and my son?" She quizzes. She must not know what happened. Either way, I'm in no position to tell her what he did if I can't be bothered to talk to him and hear him out. i just can't bring myself to face him.
"Um, it's good." I lie, nodding.
"You're lying." She says, giving me a skeptical look.
I chew on my bottom lip and sigh. "I don't know." I sigh.
"Please, tell me." She insists.
"We just had a falling out. It's nothing that can't be fixed." I tell her, lying through my teeth.
"Did he do something?" She groans, annoyed.
"Yeah, but I feel like you should hear it from him." I say and she nods, not pushing it.
The door to the family area opens and I see Tayma walk in, her head hanging low.
"I better go to a different seat so you can sit next to your friend." Denise says but I quickly stop her.
"No, no! It's okay." I tell her. She looks between Tayma and I and I see her face fall.
"Don't tell me you and Tayma are also arguing." She says, sadly.
"It's alright, really." I reassure and she nods.
"I've got a feeling I know what it is." She says in a whisper. "But, I don't want to say anything because I don't want to think so bad about my son. I really hope what I'm thinking is not what happened." She says, furrowing her brows and looking at the pitch. "I'll fucking beat his ass if it is true."
i let out a laugh as she puts her arm around me. Jude's warming up on the pitch, but his eyes wander off towards Denise and I and he waves at his mom, before his eyes land on me. He gives me a tight smile and I just pull my phone out pretending not to see.
As I'm scrolling through insta, a picture of Denise and I hugging pops up on my feed.
