The group stood in Principal Weems' office, their mission weighing heavily on their shoulders. Weems looked at them with a grateful but serious expression.
"I can't express my gratitude to all of you," Weems began. "And I apologize for the loss of your friend Kent."
Divina felt her heart sink at the mention of her brother's name. She clenched her fists, trying to hold back her tears. Yoko, noticing her tension, squeezed her hand in silent support.
"We appreciate your gratitude, Principal Weems, but we still failed to catch her," Enid said, her voice firm. "She is still out there."
"That is why I will send all of you in search of her," Weems replied.
"You're sending us out?" Wednesday asked, her tone surprised.
"Yes, I will send Ms. Thatcher to guide all of you," Weems confirmed.
"Can you at least give Divina time to mourn for her brother?" Enid asked, concern evident in her voice.
Weems was about to respond when Divina interrupted. "I'm fine, Enid. If there's anything Kent would want me to do, it's not to mourn but to act." Her face was set with anger. "I will find her and avenge him."
Weems nodded approvingly. "Well, I guess that settles it. I will send you all to Wyrdheim."
"You're sending us to the sorcerers?" Enid asked, worry creeping into her voice.
"She is cursed, and the sorcerers are located there. That's the only place she can go," Weems explained.
"How can you be sure she is there?" Wednesday questioned.
"When the curse took over, she escaped with them. So, I am certain she is there," Weems replied.
"We are outnumbered. There are thousands of them or more," Bianca pointed out, her voice steady but concerned.
"I know, but you can handle them," Weems said, her eyes resting on Wednesday. "You have potential, Addams, and I trust you with them."
She walked over to her desk and pulled out a map, laying it out for them to see. "Wyrdheim is a dangerous place, but I believe in your abilities. You must be careful and stay united.
Divina's eyes flashed with determination. "We'll bring her back."
Weems nodded. "I will give you a day to prepare yourselves. Ms. Barlowe will give you some supplies and weapons that will be needed for the mission."
As the group left Weems' office, the weight of their task settled over them. They dispersed to gather their belongings, each lost in their own thoughts.
The following day, they gathered in the courtyard, their packs filled with supplies. The air was crisp, and a sense of urgency hung in the atmosphere. Ms. Barlowe stood in front of them with an array of weapons behind her, distributing them. She gave Wednesday a small smile and handed her a weapon wrapped in a black cloth.
It was a broadsword, its handle intricately designed with a serpentine figure wrapped around it, the blade gleaming in the morning light.
"Weems had it designed specifically for you," Ms. Barlowe said, her voice filled with amusement.
Wednesday observed the sword, her fingers tracing the serpent's coils. "Thank you," she replied, her tone sincere but focused.
Weems walked in, glancing at each of them sternly. "Good luck, everyone," she said, her voice carrying the weight of her expectations and hope. She then glanced at Ms. Barlowe. "Open the portal."
Ms. Barlowe nodded and began chanting in an ancient language, her hands weaving intricate patterns in the air. A shimmering portal materialized before them, swirling with ethereal light.
