(Jack's POV)

Perching myself on the edge of his windowsill I lightly tapped the frosted glass of Jamie's bedroom window. I pressed my ear to the glass, trying to hear if he was inside.
A gasp followed by a crashing sound confirmed my suspicion and quick footsteps were racing to the window. The dark navy blue curtains were pulled back revealing Jamie who was smiling ear to ear.
'Jack!' He called when our eyes met. Immediately he went about unlocking the window and opening it.
'Hey kido!' I greeted while slipping through the window and into his room.
'Jack are you ok!? What's going on?! What's happening?! The last time I saw you, you were crying and in a massive crater covered in blood! That was like a week ago and I've been freaking out ever since!' Jamie blurted out while hugging me tightly.
'Woah! Jamie slow down. That's why I'm here, to explain. First of all, I have something for you.' I said while reaching into my pocket.
'Ok. What is is?' He asked while standing on his tiptoes, trying to see what I had in my hands.
'It's a peace offering. A blueberry muffin and some bikkies all freshly baked from the North Pole.' I answered as I handed the boy the treats.
'Oooo yum! Thanks Jack' He said while taking a bite out of the muffin.
'Umm... I've got a few things I need to talk to you about and the first one is an apology. I'm sorry I yelled at you.' I mumbled while sitting at the end of his bed.
'Yelled?' Jamie asked while giving me a confused expression.
'Yeah, I yelled at you to go home and you ignored me. I feel really bad about that.' I admitted while turning away from him.
'Oh that's fine Jack! Don't be silly! All you did was tell me to go away and from the damage of the main street I understand why you did. Actually, what happened to the street?' Jamie asked while sitting on the bed beside me.
'Pitch and Romanna got into a power fight. It didn't end well.' I answered while shaking my head and pulling my knees to my chest.
I don't ever want to rember that moment again. The moment Romanna was shot and all the sadness that followed after. I loved her to the point I almost gave up on ever being happy again. I was in a really bad place for those four days she was gone. And What makes that even worse to remember now is that I may have lost her again, but this time she's not dead. I've lost her because I was stupid enough to argue back when she was already fired up.
I didn't believe North when he said that she will be fine and will "come around eventually" after I give her time to think. I don't think all the time in the world would make her change her mind. She's stubborn like that.
I wonder where she is now? Maybe she found a yeti with a snow globe and has gone home?
Well that's just great! I'm going to have to explain myself to her overprotective mother and if that wasn't bad enough Cupid is going to be so pissed.
'Umm... Jack?' Jamie asked while waving his hand in my face.
'Huh?' I responded while turning to face him.
'You kinda zoned out while I was talking. Are you ok? Did you hear anything I just said?' He asked slightly worried.
'Umm, you were talking?' I said as I scratched the back of my neck awkwardly.
