CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Alana

*SMUT WARNING*

Dragons like when you sing to them but I don't know what songs they truly like. Daemon usually sings a soft song when he comes down here and when I was younger he'd try to teach me the words but I could never remember them.

I take my time and move slowly and I remember the song that was written in the back of Faelan the Wolf King. It's the song of his devouring love for Ashina and how he would bring the world to ruins if she so much as asked.

Thank the Gods my mother made sure to teach us High Valyrian and even myself even though I never had a dragon of my own. As I make my way down the darkest parts of the pits where the stone is wet and dripping, leaving little puddles on the path, I start to sing the song softly.

And where is she? My love come to me... Bound to me, she is all I see...

I step over what looks like the bone of a sheep... I hope it's the bone of a fucking sheep but it does look somewhat human like. Maybe a leg bone... But hopefully... I am praying to the Gods it's just a bone from a sheep...

Lost within your soul, lost within your mind. I am hers and she is mine. Cold as the winter night when she leaves. Hot as summer's sun as I taste her skin with ease... I am made for her. She is made for me.

I reach the large pit and stand just feet away from the ledge. Singing the same song over and over. Until I hear a rumble that echoes through the entire pit. The eerie feeling in my stomach growing closer and closer.

Seasmoke? I called out in High Valyrian. Seasmoke, is that you?

I could hear the growling and rumbling coming closer and closer... I waited in the darkness with only the lanterns to give a few shreds of light. A dripping coming from the tall stone ceilings right by my boot.

The ground below me began to shake and I took a step backward.

Eyes began to glow at me and the wind from the wings blew my hair back. I opened my eyes wide and stood my ground. Daemon taught me that. If you want a dragon you have to stand firm. They can smell your fear.

Silverwing... I say at ease with excitement. Silverwing had come to me when I had sang and I gripped my chest with happiness. She tilted her head to the side and snorted at me. Obey me, Silverwing. Obey me.

She then tilted her head the other way and nudged closer. I took a step forward but I took note of her breathing. Silverwing seemed to be a bit intimidated by me or perhaps she was trying to intimidate me.

Calm down, Silverwing. Obey me... Obey me... Silverwing.

A more relaxed huff came from her and she rested her head down on the edge. I took another step closer and I touched the side of her head. She purred at me like a large cat and I couldn't help but giggle.

What a beauty you are... I heard all the stories of you, Silverwing and yet... No one has claimed you. Why not?

Silverwing blinks her eyes at me and I start to wonder if she truly understands all my words to her. Dragons are brilliant. I just wish they could better communicate with humans. I kiss the side of her head and she slows her breathing.

Relax... Well done, Silverwing... Well done.

My chest was tight when I first stepped toward her but now I feel at ease. Our breaths are perfectly in sync and I notice she does have a saddle on her. I know that Rhaena had once tried to claim her but Silverwing instantly rejected her.
