Days have passed since Queen Aemma's death, and it's been a day since the young princess claimed a wild beast inside the dragon pit. Until today
Daella and her older sister Rhaenyra are devasted by their mum's death, everyone knew that the youngest daughter was the one this very close to her mother growing up, and whenever Daella walks out of her room, she never missed a single question from everyone, asking how is she, or how she feels
She has no answer.
The princess would just stop in her tracks and stare into space, trying to figure out what she truly felt, and would walk away. She and Rhaenyra haven't spoken to each other since the funeral, the same as with her best friend Lady Alicent.
But today, Daella wanted peace of mind. Ad the young princess wore her white dress, her long silver hair flying over to her back through the wind as it blew the small flowers from her hair.
Her hands were tightly held into Vermithor's saddle as she smiled and looked over to her right side where her dragon The Cannibal flew as well in the sky. The two dragons let out a roar as they continued their journey above the clouds, it was peaceful for her.
Peaceful that she's finally out of the castle, from mourning her mother and brother, away from the people pitying her. She disliked the feeling of it, that no one was finally there to braid her hair again neatly like how her mother did.
Daella couldn't be angry at her King Father, she couldn't, and she didn't want to, the young princess sees how they both love each other, and it wasn't forced by their duty.
But now, the king has no sons but two daughters, and some of the small folk want a boy to be the next king on the Iron throne. Daella dreamed last night about an unknown woman marrying her father
It scares her... She has no idea who that woman could be, and what would happen after to her and her sister.
Thinking about that dream makes her even more stressed, so the young princess finally decides to go back down. She petted her hand into Vermithor's scale
guiding Cannibal as well to continuously follow them down back to the King's landing. People in the street gasped and looked up in the sky to see two large dragons flying above them, Vermithor roared and landed back to the ground outside the dragon pit where the Dragonkeepers were waiting for them, Cannibal landed and it shook the ground. Growling at the helpers who look up at the two wild beasts.
Princess Daella jumped off her saddle and landed on the ground without any help, she smiled at Vermithor and stroked his scale
" Sagon sȳz se Kiri" (be good and obey) She softly says, as Vermithor nudges her dragon rider.
Daella let out a small chuckle before looking back at Cannibal and softly placing a kiss on his cake before the two dragons were finally ordered to walk back inside the dragon pit. Daella watches them and sighs, the weight on her shoulder comes back
Turning around to return to the carriage that awaited her, the young princess was taken by surprise when a man who wore silver and green armor jumped off his horse and stood on the ground. He looked up and met the princess's purple orbs.
Daella could feel her breath shortly hitching in her throat as she watched the man with long dirty blonde hair smile at her, nearly a smirk as he began walking towards the princess.
If she's not wrong. She knew who exactly he was
" Princess Daella " The man spoke for the first time, hearing his smooth voice sent shivers down her spine, she had no idea what was happening in her but she only knew one thing, she was struck.
" S-Ser Gwayne " She replies
Gwayne Hightower stands in front of her. With his 6'0 ft height and a glimpse of a white bandage in the corner of his forehead, he and Alicent share the same eye color. Yet he nearly looks like their father Ser Otto
Daella had heard many good things about him, and this was their first meeting. She wondered if the knight was waiting for her to land from her ride
" It's nice to finally meet the princess of people's hearts " The knight continues and offers to take her hand
she lets him, thinking they're gonna do a handshake but mistakenly, Daella's cheeks turned bright red when the knight raised her hand to his lips and placed a kiss on her knuckles.
" Same as you, ser " She talks out.
Ser Gwayne softly lets her hand go, not wanting to step over the royal princess's boundaries and seemingly like he's disrespecting her in front of everyone that surrounds them.
" I apologize about what my uncle did to you during the tourney- he can just be a very aggressive man sometimes " the young princess innocently apologized.
Ser Dwayne chuckles again at her kindness, she's too kind. He thought
"ahh, there is nothing for you to apologize about, princess. After all, it's part of the tourney, although I'm glad he lets me live " The knight jokingly says
Daella chuckles and shakes her head. She knows her uncle, looking behind the knight. She looked for her best friend but found her nowhere with him.
" if you're looking for my sister, she stayed behind in the castle right now because our father seemingly wants her to do something. While I'm here, asking the princess her permission can ride her back to her kingdom " Ser Gwayne playfully bowed his head and took out his hand again in front of her, Daella giggled and couldn't just resist him
" of course, my knight "
She replied. Ser Gwayne's eyes lit up when hearing what she called him, looking up in surprise, the young princess smirked at him and walked past him to the carriage without saying another word. Ser Gwayne smiles stood where he was, smiling, he then turned before following the princess.
