I sat in the Mandap and gave Ileana an uneasy look.
"You'll never forget tonight" Nikhil said. Shit! What will he do to me? I really don't want to have sex. I just ignored him and looked at Deepi. She gave me a thumbs up and I replied by giving her an I'm going to kill you after this stupid shit look.
The pandit ji began saying some mantras which I really didn't understand. I mean, some weird Hindi mythological words! They were so huge. Then Nikhil's sister, Pia came and tied my dupatta with Nikhil's sherwani.
"Beta, phere lo" the pandit ji said. I didn't react.
"Beti?"
I stood still.
"Alia?!" Nikhil nudged me. I still didn't move.
"I-I can't do this." I said finally looking into Nikhil's eyes.
"I'm sorry" I said and ran straight out of the house. I could hear people screaming my name and chasing me. I just ran.
"Alia!" Nikhil screamed and stopped me.
"Nikhil. I don't love you. I'm so sorry. Bye" I said kissing his cheek.
I ran.
