I was awakened by a firm grip on my arm from my younger brother, Draco. As I lifted my head from resting against the window, I took a moment to analyze my surroundings and realized the train had arrived at the station. "Wake up you fool, we're here," Draco barked, gradually releasing his hold. "I noticed, moron," I replied tersely.

To outsiders, it seemed my brother and I couldn't stand each other. But, to be perfectly honest, we were a very tight-knit duo. I loved my brother more than anything in the world.

Once my eyes adjusted to the bright lights, I stood up slowly, reaching for a small chocolate frog I had accidentally sat on. "So that's where it went," I muttered.

"Let's go, Kas," Draco commanded, a bit bossily. I scoffed and made my way toward the door.

Draco let me go first, as always. Despite being a bit of a bully, our mother had instilled good manners in him. "Thank you, sir," I joked, grinning at my tired and annoyed brother. He just rolled his eyes and followed me through the doors.

We made our way through the train toward the exit doors, with my brother rambling and complaining about every little thing the entire walk.

I finally approached the tall gates leading up to the school.

"Names?" I heard from below. I looked down to see Professor Flitwick standing there with a clipboard and quill in hand.

"Seriously? It's been six years and you still need our names?" Draco snapped.

"Names?" Flitwick repeats, ignoring my peeved brother.

"Kassia Malfoy," I stated as I watched the quill glide across the paper.

Draco groans before speaking. "Draco Malfoy."

"Blaise Zabini."

"Gregory Goyle."

Blaise and Goyle—I hardly had an opinion on them. They were my brother's 'friends', they were complete followers who did whatever he told them to do.

"Go," Professor Flitwick instructed, tilting his head toward the carriage waiting to take us to the castle, his eyes still focused on the paper and clipboard.

The carriage ride was brief, and we soon stopped in front of the castle. Each of us hopped out of the carriage one by one, the gravel crunching underfoot as we landed.

I took a long look at the castle, soaking it all in. I've always claimed to hate this school, but deep down, I knew that wasn't the truth. This was my sixth year at Hogwarts, and with the seventh being my last, I planned to make this year count.

As we stepped into the castle, the scent of Hogwarts enveloped me. I could smell the old, well-loved books from the library, a hint of candle wax from the many enchanted candles lighting the corridors, and the aroma of potions brewing in the dungeons. There was also the earthy, slightly musty scent of the castle's ancient stone, occasionally mingled with the magical, floral notes from the plants in Herbology.

Draco, his friends, and I made our way to the Great Hall for supper, heading straight to the Slytherin table. As we approached the table, whispers trailed behind us, a familiar soundtrack in the Great Hall. Draco led the way, flanked by his usual entourage—Blaise and Goyle—who were already eyeing the feast with eager anticipation.

I watched as Draco fiddled with the food on his plate after we had taken our seats, his gaze fixed on the Gryffindor table, particularly Harry Potter.

"Draco?" I whispered, leaning in slightly.

"What?" he hissed, his eyebrows furrowing in irritation.

"Are you alright?" I asked.

"Fine," he muttered, his tone laced with unnecessary anger—something that was all too familiar, especially when he was around Harry.

To be fair, Gryffindor's make my blood boil, especially Harry and his friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. They were the most insufferable trio I've ever met in my life.

Hermione was an intolerable know-it-all, Ronald was just a pussy.

"Potter basks in attention like he's done something remarkable. Surviving isn't a talent," Draco fumed.

Don't get me wrong, I agreed with everything my brother said about Potter. However, Harry was all Draco ever talked about, and it was starting to get old.

Blaise and Goyle, unsurprisingly, nodded and agreed with Draco, prompting me to roll my eyes at them.

I ate quietly for the rest of dinner, knowing it was pointless to change the topic while Draco ranted about how much he hated Harry Potter.

After finishing dinner, I dragged my tired body down the grand staircase, making my way hastily to the Slytherin common room, Draco following behind me

After finishing dinner, I dragged my tired body down the grand staircase, making my way hastily to the Slytherin common room, Draco following behind me. If there was one thing I needed right now, it was sleep, especially to be prepared for my classes the next day.

"Breakfast at seven-thirty, as always. Charms at nine, Herbology at ten, Defense Against the Dark Arts at eleven fifteen, lunch at twelve fifteen, and... umm," I mumbled to myself, trailing off as I tried to recall my schedule. "Potions at one fifteen, Muggle Music at two thirty, a free period at three thirty, and dinner at six," I finished as I made my way down the dark corridor, toward the common room entrance.

I stopped in front of the door and stated the password. "Sovereign," I said, watching as the door opened for us to enter.

I stepped into the common room with Draco still close behind. He and his friends headed to their dorms, and I did the same. "Goodnight, Draco," I said, pausing near the staircase to the girls' dorms. "Night," he replied with a subtle nod. I gave him a slight smile before turning to walk up the steps.
